Ordered a 60th Birthday cake for my husband many days before we were to pick it up during our short vacation in Celoron. Killa Kookies & Cream was recommended by the hotel. I was highly disappointed in what we received. First the cake was to be done at 1:00 pm but they called shortly before while we were already out to pick up the cake to state they we’re running behind. That is forgivable. Next, I asked for “Happy 60th Birthday Chris” to be put on the cake and it was missing. The man’s response was “I don’t know how we are going to do that now.“ Also, I had asked for cream cheese frosting and could not taste any cream cheese in the frosting. Last was the sticker shock, I never expected to pay $48 for a six inch cake. This is partly my fault because I did not ask the price at ordering but I feel the cost probably should have been revealed ahead of time. I am not from around here but needed to let other travelers know of my experience. Avoid if you want to overpay for something different than...
Read moreI have had cake from here on 3 different occasions and each occasion I was highly disappointed. My mother ordered from here for her wedding and it looked nothing like my mom wanted. Not only did it not look the greatest the taste was dry and awful. I had cake from here again for my cousins birthday. It was the cutest grinch cake I would give it a 10/10 for presentation but the cake was dry and the fondant used was so thick and gross. My other cousin ordered from here for her daughter’s birthday in November. Again presentation was so cute but the taste was awful. The fondant on it had to be a half an inch thick no lie. It had a hazelnut inside that was the only good tasting part about this cake the rest was dry. Kind of old tasting. It’s too bad because I was really hoping to redeem their name but 3 times on different occasions with different people ordering. It just is...
Read moreThe first time I went to Killa was when they first opened. They were pretty good, albeit pricier than most small town bakeries. I chalked it up to ambition and prices would match quality over time. I went Wednesday with my wife and daughter for Gelato and to see what changes have occurred in the last year. The Gelato was delicious, but way overpriced. I also got two peanut butter cupcakes and was highly disappointed. The cake portion was extremely dense and annoyingly dry. The frosting was obnoxiously sweet and dense as well. The price on these was 3.24 each. Not worth it in the least. Couldn't even eat the second one because I felt the density. I get that they are trying to accomplish, but focus on improving existing items. Cupcakes shouldn't be dense and powerfully sweet. I've lived in LA and NY. The most successful shops have light and airy cakes. Won't be...
