GREAT EXPERIENCE on my first visit!: After attempting and traveling to FIVE different places to find a Jamaican restaurant that was open today (Memorial Day), I called this restaurant and Rasheed answered the phone. I asked him if the restaurant was open and what time they closed because of the holiday.
Rasheed was SO KIND and sounded very energetic over the phone! He ensured me the restaurant was open and that I could swing on by! Very friendly voice over the phone. I appreciated this. Made me want to actually come to the restaurant. Upon arrival, parking is directly in front of the restaurant which is a plus! Inside was very clean. I liked the way their menu was set up.
Rasheed did a wonderful job taking our order and helping us choose what we wanted. He even gave us some samples to see what we liked which was helpful! The chicken soup was a kicker! A bit spicy BUT not spicy that my mouth was on fire. Just enough to clear my sinuses.
As we ate, closing time came near and we did not feel rushed to finish our food at all! The owner and Rasheed allowed us to eat our food in peace.
When we were finishing our meal we met Marcia. Marcia was very kind as well! Very professional and well mannered. As Iâve worked in customer service, I felt the need to let her know that Rasheed was amazing and I was very happy with his service. Marcia and Rasheed informed us of their reward system.
As stated above, I was solely craving a taste for Caribbean food and just wanted to eat but the service and people at this restaurant exceeded my expectations! I will definitely be coming back!
Food was great! Ordered oxtail, rice and peas, Mac & cheese and the chicken soup. Loved it all! Mac and cheese was moist and cheesy. Rice and peas was very good as well. Portions were perfect! I like having leftovers for the next day! Vegetables were warm, flavorful but also had a bit of a crunch. The perfect steam.
My favorite overall though was the soup! Definitely try...
Read moreThere was a big buzz around town about a Jamaican restaurant opening up in our area being fishkill beacon something more closer then Newburgh. Me and my wife decided to give them a try and see if we didnât have to make that trip across the bridge to Newburgh. Letâs just say we are back traveling to Newburgh to get our Jamaican food. The food was without seasoning certain things that we wanted we was told itâs not available. Even the gentleman that was taking our order, had a disclaimer, he said the cook that was working that day was not the original chef so if the food doesnât taste good to come back on the day his original chef would be working. We was shock he even told us that. But we declined and chose not to go back. I had the oxtail is which I love but there was absolutely no flavor to the meat. The cabbage was hard. My wife co worker went there and order some food, because they was closing they gave him a beef patty. He came to work the next day with a slightly chipped tooth. The patty was so hard. Fast forward three months later my wife decided to give them another chance she ordered the soup omg so nasty she didnât even eat it after the first spoon full. They even had the soup in a paper containers instead of the leak proof container. They need to get a really good chef in the kitchen and they will...
Read moreI had an order on doordash bring me here and Iâve been dying to try the food because it looked so good. Me and my partner finally managed to stop by earlier, the staff are incredibly friendly! It was my first time eating authentic jamaican cuisine and I had the Ackee and Saltfish (they added oxtail sauce which was to die for.) I probably looked like an absolute pig hunched over my plate shoveling that food in my mouth. Had me damn near walking out with a limp the food was so good. There was plantains and huge chunks of potato and I think some big dumpling, I couldnât get enough of it, that food had me in trance crying thinking about how often Iâve dropped 15$ at a McDonaldâs when I could have been eating this good!! đđ the sauce was so dynamic and flavorful. The cooks were sweet and the whole atmosphere is very laid back and passionate. It was the perfect lunch for a day spent all over the road running errands, they donât shy on their portions either they make sure you are FED for a good while. If youâre debating eating here donât wait...
