Pineapple Jack's — Restaurant in Town of Gates

This was not my first time at PJ's, but the first in many years, so I thought maybe it had gotten better. WRONG!

It was a Thursday night, and there was one other table of 4 people in the dining room. There were 4 people at the bar. We were seated right away, and the server came over in just a few minutes. We placed our drink order, and waited 14 minutes before the Coke and glass of wine appeared. She blamed the bar staff that she had to wait to get the liquor, yet we witnessed the bartender lounging, and talking to the 4 bar customers... Hubby ordered a steak bomber and mine was a baked haddock, baked potato and broccoli - cooked with no butter or oil.

After another 20 minutes, we were served, and except for the potato, everything was tasty and right. The potato was old and reheated, not very good, but I don't eat much of it anyway, so not a deal-breaker. We had to ask for salt, pepper and ketchup to be brought to the table. That's not right and should be there on every table regardless.

The server never acknowledged that my wine glass was empty, even after I placed it at the edge of the table it took a few pass-bys before she noticed. She came by when we were done and asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. After declining either, she brought the check, yet never cleared our dirty plates. The hostess finally came over and took the dirty plates away and asked how thing were. Not wanting to burden the hostess about the poor service, we didn't really reply.

My friends and I went on a double date and decided ro stop here for dinner before the movie! We had never been before so we were eager to try it out!

We got inside and we're seated promptly once noticed and given menus and asked for drinks. I was a little nervous about the menu because I'm currently on the keto diet and can't have many if any carbs. Looking over the menu I saw a perfect option!

I decided to get the burger that has the shaved steak with mozzerella and I asked not to have the bun. I chose a side salad so I could combine the meat with the salad after it came.

I was blown away when the waitress asked if I just wanted my meat over my side salad. A simple question to most, but it meant the world to me that she asked me that question! Not many people know much about the keto diet, but our waitress made sure to ask all the right questions!

The food came out and it was absolutley delicious. My friends got wings, potato skins and a burger as well. We all enjoyed our food a lot and out drinks were refilled very quickly too!

We will definitley make pineapple jacks a place to remember when hanging out again! Thank you for being inclusive when it comes to people's dietary restrictions! Awesome...

Was just there over the wknd, my husband and i went to listen to a band that we like. We went up to the bar to order our drinks my husband got his Genny and i ordered a White Russian. The bartender wasnt familiar with the drink so went for help. When she came back she explained that "we dont do those here"! I thought that was weird cause they have a restaurant here, certainly they must get orders for milk from ppl with children! Ok whatever. I then tried to order a Scotch Sour. Simple right?! Scotch and Sour mix..... No, she again walked away. Came back asking what kind of scotch i wanted and proceeded to name off 5 different whiskeys. Now im no scotch efficient but theres a difference in taste and i have never been in a bar that doesnt have scotch! I never complained or was mean to this girl. I ended up drinking a Jameson and sour mix lol. Could have been her first day or maybe i was asking for the impossible! Oh and my husband canceled his order for wings after waiting an hour. I would never go there again, but if u decide to go even after reading this u better just...
