Sorrento Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of German Flatts

To be honest we haven't received our food yet. It took 25 min for the waitress to come but it was really busy. Food and service has always been good here but today the atmosphere isn't so great because it's soooo freaking cold in here! People are trying to cover their arms. AC must be set to Arctic blast. Feels like a meat cooler! It's usually cool in here hence we wore long sleeve shirts even though it's 80 out. But today it's much much colder. We actually contemplated leaving. How do they not notice all the customers all wearing jackets or trying to cover up their arms? Come on now...when the waitress asked how we were I said freezing.. apparently fell on deaf ears cause I got no response back. (Update)Two out of three entrees were good. Salads were not good at all. Would I advise not going there? No. This is the first time our experience wasn't good. I would advise wearing a thick hoodie or warm jacket and definitely pants. We eat quite often at Sorrentos and usually their food is pretty good. Recently we ordered Philly cheese steaks to go, they were horrible. No onions or peppers, we ordered mayo and there was none. They were so dry we had a hard time swallowing them. Had we ordered to eat there they would have been refunding our money. We live way out of town and that was dinner so we had no choice. But, we would never order a sub from there again. Their pasta is pretty good and their fish frys are good. Went there a couple weeks ago, will probably be the last. Sat waiting for our food and watched the owner who was handling food, she went to a cooler several times and took food out and ate it with her fingers, went back to what she was doing, never washed her hands, no gloves...stopped to talk to other employees fixing her hair, hands all over her face, again never washed her hands.The wrong person will see that one day. Our favorite restaurant! We make this establishment a regular stop when we are in the Utica area. We especially enjoy their lunch specials. Their antipasto is Chuck full with meat, cheese, peppers, tomatoes, and red onion, and topped with a balsamic dressing unlike anything found anywhere else. I get the eggplant sandwich and my wife gets the BLT. Our waitress is absolutely the best and has been there for a long time. She remembers our orders and knows other requests we have. Always nice to see her. We are going to try their pizza which looks great and on special on Tuesdays but we haven’t yet. We highly recommended this wonderful Italian restaurant!! Update we tried the pizza today and it was excellent. Sausage and peppers with close to a perfect crust. Best we have had around Utica. This pizza was perfect for an air fryer(in warm ups) as good if not better than...
