Lagonias Bistro — Restaurant in Town of Ghent

EDIT (July 2023): I often order from Lagonias when visiting beautiful Chatham, NY. Since my family was hungry, I put in an order right as they were opening at 11:25 am. The order taker told me 25 minutes, so I planned accordingly and did a few extra errands. When I got there after 27 minutes, the pizza wasn't ready. They explained that a large order had come in and it would be 10 extra minutes. It seems to me that this large order was given priority, even though I probably ordered first, given the fact that I wasn't told about this when I ordered. After 35 minutes, the pie still wasn't up. Someone came in for their 12 pies and my order finally came up after 45 minutes total. Had they told me this upfront, it would have been fine, but instead I wasted my time sitting around waiting. Remarkably, there was no apology whatsoever regarding the delay. To top it off, the "extra large" was more like their usual large. I doubt I'll be returning after this treatment. After attending a show at the MacHaydn Theater, we chose to have dinner at Lagonias Bistro. This was our first visit and found it a pleasant experience. The restaurant was neat and very clean. We were greeted by our server, Jessie, with a big smile and a warm welcome. Our order was taken immediately and served very quickly. My wife ordered the chicken Marsala. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana and the accompanying pasta was a little over cooked and a little tasteless. The portions sizes were very adequate and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant provides a nice selection of craft beer served in frosted glasses. A house salad was provided with each entree but there was no offer of any bread. The onion rings were really good, and homemade. The wings were moist and flavorful, but not extra crispy. The major problem i had was the chicken cutlet sub. All you could taste was the oil they fried it in. I couldn't eat it and threw it out after only 2 bites. I was really looking forward to it as I liked the pizza from the old place. I will not order it again.

Owner commented, but I just want them to know all I tasted was the oil. I actually have made balsamic chicken sandwiches with mayo before. No issue. I didn't taste the mayo, or the balsamic, or even the tomato and lettuce, just the oil soaked into the breading. I don't like being negative, but it was nothing I'd ever eat again. It was...
