Dos Amigos — Restaurant in Town of Ghent

Overall I was pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased with Dos Amigos. Our meal began with complimentary chips and salsa and these were high quality. I could tell, just by the salsa, that the cook took pride in his food which made me intrigued about the dinner entrees. I ordered enchiladas with mole sauce and was very happy with the portion size, the visual presentation and the quality of the mole sauce and the chicken in the enchiladas. These were the best enchiladas I've had in quite some time. The accompanying rice and beans was also somewhat elevated in flavor which I appreciated.

In my opinion, it's extremely difficult to find a good Mexican restaurant. we visited the 2nd day they were open my husband and I both ordered the tacos which came 3. You can choose the fillings. I got pulled pork, tofu and veggie. Tofu was my favorite. I got the jalapeno Marg, which was very tasty. the chips and salsa were also very good, which to me is very important! . for dessert we got the churros. They came hot with cream filling and fresh fruit on top, which was a nice addition. The only negative was the service. Unfortunately, the girls seem to not understand english that well. Chimichanga was not very crispy. Food was otherwise pretty tasty. Tacos and carne asada are recommended. Fresh food. Very cold inside, it's winter but not well heated. Nice interior, though the tables are a little small when full, fun decorations. No checking in from waiters after we ordered, except to bring food, until we were mostly finished eating already No alcohol on the menu, but a lot of cocktails, smoothies and fresh juices, along with coffee and milk.
