It's been a while since I had eaten here, and tonight's experience guaranteed that I won't be back. I showed the kids the online menu and told them to pick something. They picked a meat lovers stromboli listed at $16. When I ordered it, the girl said $20 on the phone, but I thought it was just a mistake and I would work it out when I got there. When we got there I asked why it was that much and showed her their website where it says $16 she said that's too bad, and I can cancel my order and leave it if I wanted to. Really?!? That's the response to being shown your advertised menu prices are different from what you're charging?!? If I wasn't on the way somewhere with 2 hungry kids I definitely would have left it. We also got 2 empinadas. Big mistake they we're greasy and flavorless. This review gained a star because the stromboli actually was pretty good, but definitely not worth the $28 that I paid. If you're looking for a pizza place in Scotia, you have 4 other options within a mile all of which are more deserving...
Read moreI'm not one to complain, but this place was a nightmare to deal with. In short: They at best overcharged me, and at worst scammed me. Listen to the other recent reviews and avoid this place.
I called and ordered carry out asking for "2 large pizzas, one with meatball and ricotta, one chicken bacon ranch". A large pie in my mind is 16 inches. Upon picking it up I noticed the price was $56 which was noticeably higher than the ~$40 I expected to pay. Upon further discussion I may have mistakenly ordered the 18 inch size instead. However. using the numbers from their site, an 18" 2 topping is $20.00 and a specialty is $21.75. Which would make the order $45.09 after tax. I called so there would be no fee or prior tip.
If I had read the prior reviews about similar experiences I would have walked out, but I paid $29 for the meatball pie, at least $8 more than it should be after doing the math.

Read moreI remember when Giovanni's opened a few years after I bought my house up the road in Glenville. I was so happy to have a place literally ON THE WAY home from work! Sadly, the pizza was TERRIBLE. The worst. I mean, the box was probably better than the actual pizza crust.
I have faithfully tried Giovanni's every few years ever since then, and it hasn't gotten any better. Last time I tried it was pre-pandemic and it was just as dreadful as I first remembered it to be. I honestly have no idea how they have stayed in business over the years since there are so many REALLY GREAT pizza places within just a mile or two.
The only reason I'm writing this review is that my husband recently made the mistake of stopping for a slice on the way home from running errands. He took one bite and tossed the rest in the trash.. Save yourself,...
