First off the service was excellent! The diner was clean and classic diner style. The problem was the food. The Chicken or the egg sandwich isn't chicken breast. It's chicken pressed into a patty form, no taste and had the texture of a sponge. Crispy home fries were soggy burnt home fries. Crispy bacon was burnt bacon. Rye toast was warm rye bread heels. Our server was great but the kitchen had a bad day. Edit: thanks for the response but I don't want you to think we were looking for a free meal. The things I pointed out were preparation errors except for the chicken. The description of a crispy chicken filet to me is a breaded filet of chicken breast (not pressed formed chicken, like fast food) so that's on me, but I don't think other people should have to make that mistake. I believe my review is spot on. The service was great, the omelet was very good and it's a nice place. The kitchen had a bad day in my opinion. Hopefully my review will just be a one off, and people may now be aware and maybe want to order differently based our experience. As for giving you a chance to correct the problems I don't know how recooking everything would have changed the outcome and to be honest I didn't have to wait. I don't believe 1 below average review will hurt a business unless that becomes...
Read moreOrdered the Mega Melt, and was really excited at how it looked until I picked it up and immediately was coated in grease. Deep-fried McDonald's hash browns should at least be drained before being placed right on the bottom slice. It was gross. The taste of grease overwhelmed what looked like it might have been a good sandwich. As a suggestion, just leave the hash brown off, it's not adding anything.
My spouse got the cheddar omelette, and was disappointed that it was just a plain omelette with cheddar on top. The home fries were good, and the rye toast was fresh. Coffee was stale and tasted like cardboard. Overall it's a hit-and-miss experience with the food.
Someone should have paid attention to the previous review about the greasy hash browns. It's a diner... have the self-respect to cook some hash on the griddle. Or at least drain the grease.
Servers were having a great chat behind the counter throughout our meal. They did manage to stop by once before dropping off the check. No one asked how the meal was even though my spouse's entire meal was mostly untouched.
The place is just mid.... Nothing to be impressed about unless you get really aroused by high volumes of red, white and blue decor, which seems to be a hit with the baseball cap and...

I am from the Diner Capital (NJ) and I must say this is the best Diner I’ve been to in any state besides NJ! This diner is incredible. Excellent food and the environment is truly awesome. Never see people anymore not on there phones. Yet here no one is. Everyone is enjoying the moment and the staff makes this place so enjoyable. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Feel like I am at home!
Whenever I am in Fairport this is my spot. Great place and the owner is awesome. Never said more then a hello and a simple head nod but today I watched him do what I’ve heard he has in the past.
I watched the owner pay the bill for a customer. Older lady who was dealing with a tough time, especially two days before thanksgiving. The owner sat down never even handing her a bill and told her that if they need food for tomorrow and Thursday (thanksgiving eve and thanksgiving) to call and he will get something over to them. Truly awesome.
Will be back for sure as that really touched my heart....
