DONT GO HERE. Owner Marilyn- Took our friends out for a birthday dinner and a movie.Your attitude and service are aberrant. I feel sorry for the staff that works for you. "Guests" that make a reservation and are transparent about being on a timeline should not have a receipt shoved in their face when their meals are not prepared timely. An apology and perhaps some attempt at compromise would have avoided this terrible experience. Offering to wrap up the entrees (one of which was a Salmon dish) after waiting 45+ minutes and knowing we were going to a movie which we were then late to because of your poor service, was completely unacceptable. Never ate the food as we never got it but we paid you anyways.
**See response from management below. The play-by-play recanted speaks volumes to the owners demeanor. Omitted from this tale is the fact that the server did tell us we would have enough time to eat and make the movie. She is a FANTASTIC server and asked permission to inquire about our plans after our meal as she had overheard us speaking of going to the movies. She picked up on our conversation as an attentive server should. She in good faith, truly believed we would be able to eat and make the movie on time. It seemed apparent to us that other diners that were seated after us received entrees BEFORE ours were prepared. Blame it on the Well done fish request?! Come on. I've cooked Salmon many times. We both know that is a lame excuse. But at least Marilyn, you offered an excuse this time unlike at the time we dined when you attempted to bully me into paying your bill without even a word or an attentive ear to hear our concerns. But again. That is who you are. And your passive aggressive attempt to imply we were attempting to dodge a check? 40 something year old professionals don't make a habit of doing so and have never done something like that EVER. FYI-We typically tip 25-33% of a check. Again, if you were even the least bit of a decent person you would have split that check with the server given the circumstances. But your not and you won't because your...
Read moreCame in for dinner tonight with two friends, one of which who dines at Riccis weekly. We had the calamari for an appetizer which was great however all three us received dinners that were awful, after a couple bites the server removed our plates and apologized that the food wasn't great. Zero flavor on the shrimp scampi, not a single hint of garlic and certainly no salt, the shrimp was rubbery and hard, unbearable to eat. My friend who had the chicken French just couldn't stomach the taste. We refused any to go bags, why bother. Checks came and we said something to cashier but she didn't care. This was the first and last time I will be a patron at Riccis.
Editing my review in response to the "owners" comment.
The waitress did ask if we wanted to something else but why would we bother when all three of us disliked our dinners? She clearly didn't inform a manager or owner that we were all dissatisfied with our orders for a comp on the bill, which is what should have happened. And when the owner, "cashier" was asked if there was a new chef it's because my friend dines there frequently and didn't know why the food was terrible this evening. And shame on the owner for not even acknowledging an unsatisfied custumer, that's worse than an employee who just doesn't care. The cook did not have to go out of way to change the sauce in my dish to go with the microwaved shrimp. I am far from oblivious on how things are run in the food industry. Not just one, not two but three unsatisfied customers is not a coincidence. Next time the waitress should inform the manager and that should reflect...
Read moreUnfortunately this review is not going to a nice one, we have been patrons of Ricci's for over 20 years, we live nearby and have brought many of our friends and family there. We supported them during the pandemic by ordering out frequently. Long story short, went there Saturday night, they seated a couple at the table next to us, they had attitude right from the start, a friend of ours was standing by our table, chatting, as she walked back to her table she said "to bad we couldn't have gotten the table next to you". The man sitting at that table immediately started yelling at her, being very rude and nasty. My husband asked him to stop and calm down at which point the man started yelling at my husband, after a few minutes of trading insults the man jumped up and started going towards my husband as if he was going to get physical, at this point the wait staff and the owner got involved, the owner pointed her finger in my husband's face and very nastily said" not another word from you!" The staff was being so nice to the man that started the whole thing and giving our table dirty looks, they moved the guy to another table and for the rest of the meal we were being stared at like we were evil. Obviously the other couple knew the owner and wait staff so we were the bad guys. We won't be going there anymore. Just to be clear, the guy was a vet, missing a leg, he managed to get that into the argument, probably in his 40's. My husband is 66, and always respectful...
