This was a pleasant discovery. Mariana is about a five-minute drive from where I work, making it a perfect location for a quick lunch pick-up. It's admittedly not much to look at from the outside - aside from some fun kitschy signage right out front, this could be any business in a non-descript strip mall (of which there are MANY in this area) - but it has a fun interior and a cute little bar right by the front that I took a long look at before walking to the back to pick up my lunch. And more importantly than that, the food is pretty solid. I've ordered from here twice now over the course of about two weeks, and gotten burritos each time - beef and chicken, respectively. Mexican is probably not one of my all-time favorite genres of food, just because it tends to have a lot of crunchy shizzle within its entrees (peppers, onions, etc.) and I have a texture-based palate. So as a general rule when I'm getting food from a Mexican establishment, I want it to be a little more generic/blue collar. This is definitely that. A good chunk of the entrees come with black beans and rice, which I can always get down with. Both types of burritos are tasty; I might lean a bit more toward the beef one going forward, but you really can't go wrong with either. The meat is seasoned well (from the looks of it, there's some soft shreds of green pepper in there) and the burrito isn't too thick. I've had a few below-average burritos in the past couple of months where most of them were "overwrapped," if that makes sense, and you're biting into way too many layers of tortilla before you get to the interior. These had very good consistency though. The price point is competitive as well. I've been surprised at how pricey some of the restaurants are up in this northern section of Rockland - they seem to be under the mistaken impression that they're located in Nyack or something - but given that you're being provided not only with a legit entrée, but a bag of chips and salsa as a courtesy, paying roughly $15 that includes tip/tax is pretty reasonable by my estimation. Beyond that, you obviously don't have a lot of sample size for service when you're not actually sitting down/having a waiter, but everyone I've interacted with has been professional and perfectly pleasant. Definitely keeping this place in my lunchtime lineup. Hopefully I can convince one of my chums to make the trek up here after work for a cocktail or two as well.

Mariana Mexican Restaurant previously known as “D Patron” is an authentic establishment with flavorful Mexican cuisine. I've been to many Mexican style restaurants but lord knows, I haven't come across one this good in a minute! Mariana’s has some of the best guac and salsa I’ve ever had! Food was tasty and filling without being too heavy. Their margaritas were absolutely delicious and the bartender is so much fun and loved to interact with the guests. Take note that they offer LIVE MUSIC every Thursday - Sunday which is exciting! The restaurant itself is kept very clean and organized. The service is ideal (attentive and friendly). Overall I had an amazing dining experience and definitely will be back!

Wish I could give 10 stars on a 5 scale - this place rocks. Believe the hype. Rockland county tries its best to do legit Mexican - but rarely measures up. This place dunks on everyone else in the area.

Mariana (formerly D Patron) is amazing start to finish - with more free stuff than any other comparable restaurant - starting with chips and and literally the perfect salsa - bright and acidic - along with mini nachos and mini cheese quesadillas dripping with cheese (made perfect with that salsa.) What a start!

The entree of chicken fajitas measured up to the freebies and then some - with a deeply delicious red sauce - warm tortillas and rice and beans. Super fresh guacamole and crema. Normally rice is an afterthought and can be trash. Not here! Great flavor - plate cleaning good.

If that wasn’t enough - they throw in a free dessert - warm banana chimi with a mini ice cream sundae. Again, awesome.

Even threw in a free pineapple tequila shot as the cherry on top.

Talk about going the extra mile - this should be your new spot. 100...
