After a couple of wine tastings it is always good to get some food. Jammie found this place which is supposed to have a great view as well as some good food and drinks. Walking in I could tell it was a beer place with the look and the feel. Off course the like 40 beers on the menu over the bar helped too. What we had planned was easy, cider and a sandwich. They only have one cider and they only make one sandwich. The cider is a nice crisp drink with lots of apple, very cool and refreshing on a hot day. The sandwich is a beef on weck which I had never hear of before. It is roast beef with horseradish on a special type of bread. There special version had ranch on it as well as the bread and horseradish being homemade. It was so good! with chips and a pickle (i swear those that homemade too) it is a great lunch spot. Jammie found the best seats in the house, a nice table for 2 overlooking Seneca lake. We were able to watch the rays of light coming through three clouds like the fingers of God touching the lake. With the cool breeze off the water with the smell off good food and a warm day by the water I wanted to just stay there for the rest of the day. Unfortunately we bedded to get to our campsite...
Read moreAlthough I think both beer and food are average (not bad, not excellent), the whole atmosphere of the place is amazing - the view, live bands, polite service, nice people...everything together makes it a place to visit. The view of the lake is mesmerizing - it doesn't matter if it's the middle of summer or chilly fall, middle of the day or just before sunset - get a beer and stare on the water. We were lucky to be there on Friday and see an awesome live band (unfortunately, I forgot the name) which added to the atmosphere. We tried all the beers they have and not a single one was "the one". But they weren't very bad either. Nothing exciting, but not bad at the same time. In my opinion, the "famous" beef-on-weck is overhyped and for $14 it's not worth it. You will still be hungry after finishing it. And $14 poorer. To sum it up - Go there for the overall atmosphere, don't go there just for the beer and/or the food. Note: they have two big parking lots, you will always find a...
Read moreThe venue very unique - well kept - lakeview superior - bar staff is outstanding - food and drink expect "tourist $$$ prices - the music / musicians fair to very good - BUT - HOWEVER the downside, AND there IS a "DOWNSIDE" is the selection of music presented. Many - many 2nd - 3rd - 4th - etc. etc. visits to TWO GOATS and the overwhelming consensus (over 75 to 100 patrons / guests)spoken to, is that the music (the "originals) is NOT something one can relate to - is NOT fun - is NOT enjoyable - does NOT "keep a crowd" - SO, what happens??? People leave with a bit of a NO RETURN / SOUR TASTE. ADVICE: Groups who play "COVERS" (songs people KNOW AND can RELATE to as well as maybe a few "originals") IS overwhelmingly the feel. But YOU the TWO GOATS OWNERS make YOUR decisions....but maybe, just maybe take some advice from some "old music pros" AND consider the above..."COVERS" keep people - "ORIGINALS" ??? Steve and Barbara Benyo - Corning...
