Gelato by maya — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

This place has good gelato. Unfortunately the kids working there on Sunday night 7-24, were beyond rude. I went to get two medium gelatos for $16. Pretty steep to begin with. I went to pay with a $20 bill. The girl asks if I had a $1 to give me back a $5. I did not. She then proceeds to tell me that she had to short me a $1. Correct me if I’m wrong, you don’t charge more for something because you can’t make change. Then I tried to find a $1 and she had a large tip jar of dollar bills. She could have taken the $5 from register and made change from tip jar. She said no that’s my tips. Then she hands me the $5 and says, “since your that hard up for the dollar”….this is not the first time I encounter rudeness there. This was my third time going there and I would never go back. The girl also refused to give me her name. FYI she works the Sunday night shift to close on July 24. Horrible experience the three times I went. 3 times a charm and I would not recommend this place. You want to relax and get gelato not be stressed out...

My in laws told us about this spot when you drive over the Atlantic Beach Bridge. Not sure about the parking situation. Still learning where you can and can’t park if you aren’t a resident. Went to check out this new gelato spot in AB. Was pleasantly surprised. Fantastic selection of delicious flavors and pleasant happy servers and a brand new clean shop. Definitely recommend checking it out. Fair prices and delicious offerings!...
