My wife and I had an awesome meal at a reasonable price. The portions were big and the food was prepared with care. I had the chicken parmigiana and you could tel that the chicken was fried fresh to order, so it was soft and juicy. It was not precooked and then just sauced and reheated like at other restaurants. The red sauce was a little spicy , but very good. The restaurant was very busy with both take out and sit down orders, but the wait for food was not unreasonable. They have a small salad bar that is included with your meal when you order an entrée. There were a good amount of choices and 4 different dressings to choose from. I will definitely return if I am in the area again. If you are in this area stop by you won't be disappointed.

I usually really enjoy the pizza. I had not ordered from here in a month or two. So much to my dismay, when I ordered here tonight, I was very disappointed. I know for a fact that I've gotten a Margherita pizza here before with sliced tomatoes, sliced fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. Tonight it was NOT made like that. And despite what the woman on the phone told me, it wasn't ALWAYS made the way we got it tonight, because if it had been I'd have never ordered it again. Also, those were not garlic knots I was given because garlic knots are not rolled up dough and cheese. I don't know what is going on here but it's changed and I'll be finding a new place. Highly disappointed.

Okay first off HOW CUTE IS THIS PLACE? Really nice staff. A special shout-out to Leslie for being one of the kindest souls in Barryville. She treated us beautifully and always with a smile. The knots are surprisingly great - not too dry - and the pizza was nice. Will definitely come back next time we are in Barryville.

We have a summer cottage in Blooming Grove PA and was always looking for some place new to eat. We looked on google maps and found Il Castello in NY only a 25 minute drive away. The car ride through the beautiful PA country roads and down along the Delaware river was so relaxing. We visited here on a Wednesday afternoon in late June. They have a nice little patio area with tables and umbrellas but unfortunately, it was not opened when we visited. Our party ordered a meatball hoagie, pizza, fries, wings and drinks. The plate of fries they brought I had to take home with me there was so much. Very crispy and light and not over salted like some places. The pizza was a little thicker crust but crisp and cheesy. Very good. Meatballs were a nice size as well as the wing bites. Everything we had was delicious and we will be coming back to...

Ordered Calamari and an eggplant wrap and I wish I could say it was good. The main issue I have is the calamari, I got a soup size thing of sauce yet only a handful of calamari...for the price that was a big disappointment. As for the wrap it was ok, I feel like they don’t cook/make the food like they used to years ago. I’ll still end up buying from them again bc the areas scarce of restaurants (and I love supporting small businesses) but I think they should revaluate how they make their food, I can taste the lack of soul. For an “Italian” restaurant that’s a HUGE problem. I wish I had more cash in my wallet to tip the waiters for working in a place that serves such lifeless food.

P.s. I’ll delete this and write a better review when the food...

I went with 2 other people. Each of us experienced the same thing with our second slice of a medium pepperoni pizza; soggy bottom, soft dough from the end of the slice all the way to an inch and a half before the crust, and the cheese had seized into clumps that sloughed off. The first hot slice was good. The servers were polite, but after taking orders and serving the food, all of them were nonexistent. We waited 20 minutes before we finally got up and asked for napkins and drink refills which we were given almost immediately. The 3 of us were the only customers until about 45 minutes in to dining. We also ordered garlic knots which were slightly overcooked and dry, but very flavorful. The marinara served with the knots was delicious,...
