We had brunch at The Exchange today(10/5/25) on our way home to PA from Rochester, NY. Iāve passed by this place many times traveling back and forth but never stopped. Today we did and Iām so glad we did but upset we havenāt stopped sooner. That will definitely change from now on. The Exchange Bakery will now become a must stop when traveling to and from Rochester or a detour if Iām going anywhere else along interstate 81. The food and service were excellent. However, the delectable morsels we purchased at the bakery were superior!
Iāve had croissants in many places in this country and abroad. These are in my top 3 of croissants of all time. You can tell time was taken in the lamination process. The only negative I can think of is not buying more to bring home with us. Kudos to the pastry chef! I spoke with one of the pastry chefs as I was paying for my delicious treasures. She explained to me how she made the date/pistachio brownie bites. They were so delicious. Thank you Chef for explaining your technique and ingredients! They are perfect. You are extremely talented.
Everything we bought was delicious. I truly couldnāt pick a favorite. Well, maybe the croissants and the brownie bites!!š I loved how you could see the pastry chef working her magic. You can tell she loves what she does and is proud of her work. And she should be! She has tremendous talent. If youāre passing through or near Homer, NY, do yourself a favor and stop by The Exchange for a bite to eat and do not leave without purchasing something from the bakery. You wonāt be disappointed. The town is cute too and a great place for a rest stop on your journey. ...

Obviously overcooked... the chocolate chip was extremely dry and crumbly.. the halfmoon iam never a fan, so I didn't eat it, but my 8 year old granddaughter thought it was to dry and the wife agreed . The Raspberry Bar.. was ok, but the raspberry tasted odd.. I felt tasted like cranberry... it was a Monday afternoon. The cases were empty, yet I felt they were not even that days cookies.. Side note why no indoor seating for coffee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have worked in a lot of kitchens, and eaten a lot of breakfast and I can honestly say this a top tier spot for breakfast in CNY. I had a pastrami bagle sandwich, a chocolate croissant, and a LARGE s'mores cookie. The bagle was outstanding, the crisp and the chew were perfect and overall jsut very well done, the croissant was perfect, the chocolate was balanced and the ratio of chocolate to croissant was just right. Lastey the s'mores cookie was way over the top but in the best way! Service was great too. Was it expensive? Not for the quality of the food, everything was reasonable, I would recommend this over anything in the...
