This was our first time here and it started off well, friendly and courteous hostess brought us to our table. A table server brings us bread with out butter ok no big deal we ask for some and he brings it. The waiter comes over tells us the specials, first time I've been to a restaurant of any kind where the waiter didn't introduce himself, no big deal. He took our drink order then seemed a bit impatient as we were still figuring out what apps we wanted, so he said take your time I'll be back. In all fairness it was mother's day and they were clearly busy. He finally comes back and we order an appetizer, Chicken Spiedini and for our main the NY Strip and the special surf n turf, Filet Mignon and scallops. As the table server is bring the Chicken spiedini app, a fancy chicken kabob that tasted very good,he's drops a chuck of chicken off of the end of the kabob on to the floor. I had a good view of this because I was seated facing the kitchen. He brings it and doesn't say anything and picks up the chicken on the way back to the kitchen, so now there are 2 Chucks of chicken on the kabob. Ok no big deal. Then our main course comes out and I can see that instead of the surf n turf special they had brought out the normal surf n turf that was a Filet Mignon and a lobster tail, looked great. The waiter intercepts the table server and says that's not what he ordered and they have words over how the order was entered and I said it's fine I'll take knowing were were on a time line because we had tickets to a show after dinner. The waiter said no I'll take care of asked us to please wait while they corrected it. They took away the entire order and a while later brought back the correct order, but for some reason they cut my Filet Mignon in half and served it with 2 scallops. I've never had anyone cut my steak without asking them to do it. The Filet on the incorrect order wasn't cut and was noticeably larger than the two pieces I was served, Weird! I made a comment about why it was cut and apparently that's how it's done?. To the chef's credit it was delicious but my first bite into the scallop was met a nasty hard crunch, apparently there must have been some shell still left on the scallop. It was so hard n loud I thought i chipped a tooth on it. TG I didn't, after getting all of the fragments out of my mouth I was very careful with the rest of them. I didn't say anything to the waiter about the scallop because honestly I don't think he would have cared. We were looking forward to the creme brulee for dessert,we saw it go bye on one of the carts to another table but with the delay from the misplaced order and how it was going I didn't want to risk being delayed for our show. At the end when the bill came the waiter comped us one of the two beers we had for the inconvenience of the mix up and it was reflected on the bill. Over all beautiful place and what we had was delicious baring the misshaps, but there was something off with...
Read moreWent for the first time tonight and I was extremely disappointed. My party and I wanted to go tonight for restaurant week with the price fixed menu. We made our reservation early in advance and got called 3 hours prior to the reservation that our meal was not eligible for the price fixed menu (we had an 8:30 reservation and got called a little after 5. The price fixed menu was going until 6). Upon arrival, I ask if they are able to make a lychee martini. The waiter says yes with no hesitation. I got served a martini with a cherry. I asked if this was their lychee and he confirmed yes. This was not what I ordered. I ordered the lobster pappardelle ($45) and after having a couple bites, I bit into uncooked pasta. At this point, everyone I was with was already halfway through their meals. When I brought it to the waiters attention, he insisted on bringing me a new dish. My sister ordered the burger and found 2 pieces of hair in her dish. At this point, the waiter was no where to be found when we were trying to bring this to his attention. After 20 minutes went by, we finally told him and asked to speak with a manager. There were at least 2 managers in tonight (two fairly young guys dressed up in suits). They were standing in the corner, staring at our table talking amongst themselves. One of them finally came over and I guess there was a miscommunication because he didn't even get the story right. We told him what happened and he said "he wished we let him know when it happened." I explained that we let our waiter know as soon as possible for both instances and it just felt as if he was gaslighting us. He insisted on bringing out dessert, however we politely declined as we were about to meet friends later on in the night, but honestly we were disappointed this was all they could do for us. I've never once left a negative review, but after tonight's experience and their lack of assistance and customer service, I thought this was necessary. Just wanted to bring this to future customer's attention. I would try Del Vino or...
Read moreOur dinner reservation was under our friend's name, as they had never been to Arlo's and wanted to try it. My husband and I have been there a few times and although disappointed, we thought we'd give it another try. The chicken parmesan, although presented beautifully, flamed at the table, was terribly tough and dry and tasteless (as it was when we'd had it previously, but we wanted to see if it improved. It did not). The waitress asked if we would like bread, and we said yes, we would. She returned to our table and explained that they "ran out of bread," but they were "cutting up and heating more bread" so it should be out shortly. We said that was fine, we'd wait. Without the bread showing up, our appetizers were brought to us. After we ate the appetizers, we waited a relatively lengthy amount of time for our entrees but didn't mind. We were never brought the bread, so I asked the waitress if the bread was coming. She replied "oh, you still want bread?" Of course we wanted bread, we had asked for it, she had come to us earlier to explain why it was taking longer than usual, therefore why would she think it was okay to not have brought it? Our friend did something I would not have done, he called over the maitre d and complained about the waitress, making some rather personal attacks on her abilities. I did not think that was warranted, however, the experience was frustrating. The staff is always lovely from hosts to maitre d's to servers, so the attitude about the bread was unexpected, and my and my husband's entrees were less than satisfactory - especially the chicken parmesan - so tough and tasteless again. We thought we'd give the food there another try, but now we are done and will not return to this restaurant. As a note, they offered a dessert for us to share on the house to make up for the...
