Dave's Goldmine Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

Can’t even comment on the food (smelt ok.. I’ll give them that) because I walked in, smiled and said hello and I kid you not, the man rolled his eyes at me and walked behind the counter with not a word said back. I was picking up an order for someone else. Shocked me a bit but Then I continued walking to the front and he just stared at me and went “well? Picking up? “ and I said “yes for “blank” and he just rolled his eyes yet again and threw his head back and arms back. He asked for more details as if I didn’t give him the biggest detail of all. I asked if he would like to see me phone So I took out my phone to show him ALL the details. And he said yea but I want to know first if it’s for this app (which is the info that’s on my phone and also the name has will show that info when it’s printed too). He did NOT look at my phone by the way lol. I can not believe or understand why he seemed to have a prejudice or something towards me - I have no idea what was going on….. I’m a lesbian… I look gay….. that’s all I got but I can’t even say that because I never get treated like that. He just REALLY didn’t like me off the bat. I tried to show him my phone that had all the answers on it because I just felt uncomfortable at this point engaging anymore …. He outright refused to look at my phone so he went to go look at his computer meaning he had the info at his fingertips already. I made a few “oooook?” Noises and that was all and then he just at an arms length out the bag down and didn’t say a word. It was the oddest and rudest thing. One of the first experiences like this I have ever had like this which is why I felt compelled to write this. Not a good feeling for a female, gay or not, alone at night . I’m Just trying to work for extra money too Sir....

I never leave reviews for places but, I have been going to Dave's Goldmine Mexican grille for over 10 years now. His food and hot sauces are always delicious, his personality and customer service is something you don't get many places these days - top notch. He knows his customers by name, what they order and remembers what you have going on in your life. It's also not just me- when I eat there I hear him greet people as they come in. Anyone I have ever taken to Dave's becomes a frequent customer.

If you're reading this review and thinking about getting Mexican- head to Dave's. Try a number 15 and 39 with some of the dark red hot sauce. I bet you'll be...

If you are looking for REAL Mexican food, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, good prices...this is the place to go. The food here is wonderful. Dave will make your food whatever way you want. Everything is made fresh. The Pico salsa is amazing...fresh RED RIPE tomatoes, seasoning just spicy enough. The cream or caramel Churros are made when you order. And the soups...OMG...OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!!! Dave has an extensive background as a chef. He loves to cook & he's good at it...lucky for us. It's difficult today to find good food, made well, without a lot of artificial ingredients at reasonable prices. So if that's what you want, go...
