Top One — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

FIND A NEW SPOT. First. The food is normally good. But time to time, the quality and flavor profile is inconsistent; and the food is not so great. I guess depending on who they have cooking. So, normally my wife would place an order by phone & use her Credit Card as a form of payment. And I Would pick up the order on my way home from work and/or where ever I am in my travels. But the last few times we have ordered from Top One, they have been giving my wife a hard time when taking our credit card over the phone. Now, we order frequently fro Top One, So we are no strangers to this chinese restaurant. But this evening, they gave her such a hard time and didn't even consider taking a payment over the phone and told my wife they would make the order and I would have to pay cash when I pick it up. So I did a few errands. 40 minutes later , I went to the restaurant to pick up the food. I told them my name, and I was here to pick up the food, and they didn't even make it. They said they'll make it now and ask if I was paying cash. I told him to forget it. I'm not waiting. I won't be coming back and I walked out of the store. And that's it. After 5 years ordering take out from them. I AM DONE WITH TOP ONE. THEY ALWAYS HAVE AN ATTITUDE WHEN INTERACTING WITH THE TRANSACTION OF PAYMENT AND TAKING THE FOOD. LIKE WE OWE THEM SOMETHING FROM JUST ORDERING FOOD FROM THEM. SO, WITH THE INCONSISTENCY OF FOOD QUALITY AND FLAVOR, POOR TRANSPARENCY. I'VE HAD IT. I WELL GO TO JACKIE'S KITCHEN DOWN THE BLOCK OR SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR NOW ON. VERY DISAPPOINTING. AND IT'S NOT APPRECIATED. WITH THE COST OF LIVING TODAY AND THE COST OF FOOD. SOMEONE ELSE WILL APPRECIATE MY BUSINESS. Golden Temple in Syosset is 4.5 miles away from me. But the food is absolutely incredible. It's worth the drive. And they are amazingly friendly. I've lived in Huntington, Long Island, NY for 23 years, and on June 20th returned from Portland, TN to visit Family here, but I was completely unprepared for the encounter I would have on June 24th.

It was on June 24th that My Family and I decided to order Chinese Food, and were torn between Yhum Yhum or Top One, but ultimately chose Top One and were NOT at all disappointed!

For starters, Yhum Yhum may have been less expensive, but was sorely lacking in it's variety of Dishes, and quite frankly simply failed to impress.

The 5 of Us ordered $66 worth of Food, and were VERY, VERY pleased with what was delivered to our Doorstep.

The 2 orders of General Tso's Tofu with Brown Rice were cooked perfectly, and although It wasn't Meat, It certainly did Look like Meat, AND texturally Taste like Meat.

The Sauteed Mixed Vegetables were Very Good according to My Sister Who is visiting from FL, and says She'd DEFINITELY eat Top One again.

Finally, I ordered Vegetables & Bean Curd Soup, Vegetable Egg Rolls, and Mixed Vegetables with Tofu.

Can You say, FABULOSO?!? because that's What My Take Out experience with Top One was.

The Quart size Vegetables and Bean Curd Soup tasted AMAZING and the Star of this Dish was the BROTH!

The Vegetable Egg Rolls were to die for primarily because aside from being Meatless, they were also Greaseless; anyone else hate Greasy, Soggy Egg Rolls You paid for?

My Entree of Mixed Vegetables with Tofu I can't speak enough about! With It's Crispy, Crunchy Veggies, Sweet Brown Sauce, and Scrumptious, cubed pieces of Tofu, this Dinner is a Winner that I would order again and highly recommend to non Meat eaters.

Top One is a Keeper, and ANYTIME I'm visiting Here, I'll be a Repeat Customer!

When I ordered my food, the meat tasted metallic and I’ve eaten a lot of boneless ribs before and that’s not how it tasted, I called back, they told me to come back and I repeatedly told them I can’t come in babysitting until the follow afternoon, I told them to replace my food and I had to wait even longer, this is unacceptable, I’ve worked in a chinese restaurant before I know a lot of the food, but this no the meat was horrendous, I understand maybe it was just bad but the owners need to check their food, so these type of things don’t occur I’m sorry Top One but you need to do better on these type of situations, I hope in the future I have better experiences, 23 bucks for what? Just for food being thrown in the garbage, I’m sorry again but the food put me on the verge of throwing up, with the side effect of metallic taste...
