To find a restaurant that is dog friendly is 5 stars off the bat for us. We were expecting temporary patio umbrellas and plastic tables ,what a pleasant surprise to see overhead wood beams and transparent acrylic making the outdoor area beautiful, light and airy-even the artificial flowers added to the outdoor ambiance. Free roasted corn niblets and a green and red sauce arrived before we ordered. The corn was a little too dry for me and the sauces were too spicy for me. But hubby did enjoy the sauces with potatoes.
We ordered: Inca cola
MARACUYA SOUR PASSION FRUIT PISCO SOUR - specific to peru. Delicious.
PULPO ANTICUCHERO* GRILLED OCTOPUS SEASONED IN PERUVIAN AJI PANCA SAUCE, SERVED WITH PERUVIAN GOLDEN POTATOES)- wasnt the best we’ve had. It was overly salted and not as fresh but the flavors were good. It was a large serving for an appetizer.
FILETE DE PESCADO EN SALSA DE CAMARONES- fried breaded fish (bass) topped with creamy sauce and 5 shrimps. The rice that accompanied this dish was the star- fluffy, salted with a hint of oil. The creamy sauce was amazing too.
Mari was a big help explaining the dishes and her recommendations were spot on. We’re looking forward to returning...
Read moreThis was the first time I came here, and my friend brought me here to try this place out. I ordered the ceviche but with the Leche de tigre. But the waitress never asked if I wanted it spicy or medium or no spice. My friend had to order for me due to the fact that I don't understand Spanish. When I received my ceviche it was really spicy and my friend had asked if I could have the Leche de tigre with no spice, the waitress brought over the smallest shot of Leche de tigre to add to my current ceviche but it was still too spicy and very un enjoyable. I could not eat it, which I did not, and my friend asked the waitress if I could just order a new ceviche but just with no spice. When I got the new dish, I was able to enjoy it better. But they still charged me for the other ceviche that I did not and could not eat. When customers are not satisfied with their meal restaurants take that off the bill which I was willing to give back the first ceviche to them because I didn't eat it but they still said no even tho they messed up by not asking about the spice level, I was not able to enjoy the first meal and they still made me pay for it even tho I...
Read moreFIRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER! Came here with lots of high expectations after being recommended. I ordered a lot of appetizers and plates to try a variety of Peruvian dishes, being a fellow Peruvian myself. The appetizers were above average compared to other Peruvian restaurants which were good. I was hoping it would only get better, the meals were good, but not great as expected. Aji de Gallina was bland and too milky. Lomo Saltado had a tangy sweet taste (maybe Oyster Sauce) which it shouldn’t have, being a salty dish. Jalea was bland. Service was OK, could definitely improve staff training not sure if they are new waiters. Towards the end I waited nearly 20-30 mins to get my check and table cleared (I had to ask for this to get taken care of). I really wish this restaurant would’ve made a better impression because I brought my family over for a special occasion. How disappointing, hopefully everything improve, I left a good tip which I hope makes the waiter want to be more attentive and...
