Since moving to West Irondequoit, we've been looking for a decent place to fill in for our old favorite Chinese restaurant in our old neighborhood.
For the past year, we tried nearly every place in W. Irondequoit, and neighboring Greece. Nothing came close. Somehow in our search, we completely missed New Gourmet. We tried it two weeks ago, just soup, and some noodles. The soups were amazing.
We tried again tonight. This time, Orange Chicken Combo, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Crab Rangoon, and chicken nuggets and fries for the kids. EVERYTHING. Was. Amazing. It blew away our old neighborhood joint, and this place rivals high end Chinese places in the city and towns around Monroe County.
Everything was fresh, not greasy, and super flavorful. Even the kids nuggets were giant, thick, and super tasty. My son is super picky, and he commented on how good the nuggets were. And that is a rare thing with him.
Just give them a shot. And as an aside, they actually double check the order when you show up. That is such a rare thing to see in any restaurant, and they do it here to make sure you don't walk away short an item. I can't praise this...
Read moreThis restaurant is toward the very beginning of the shopping center closest to Titus. Best chinese food I've had in this area since moving here. Very little to no excessive oil. Tastes fresh. Cooked just right. Will be going here from now on. Updated post I still give them 5 out of 5 stars. We have been too about 7 diff chinese take out restaurants and this one by far is the best. Not oily, never tastes like burnt cooking oil, egg rolls and won ton soup are spot on and lo mein is awesome! Tso's chicken is also very good. Food is always ready quick and hot and I always pick up! Front desk lady ALWAYS double checks your order ticket and what's in the bag. Haven't had an incorrect order yet and we have been going there for 2 years. FYI- Closed...

The egg roll was overcooked and soaked in oil (oil dripping out when you’d go to eat it), so I could not eat it. The egg drop soup tasted very off and like cardboard. Some of the portions of egg were green. The pork fried rice did not seem entirely fresh. It was dried out entirely on the top and some portions seemed fresh while others didn’t. One piece of my chicken was still pink inside. It could have been an off day, but I had hoped for a...
