Fish Face — Restaurant in Town of Irondequoit

I ordered $90 worth of food and it was all subpar and I’m super sad based on all of the reviews.. I went with high hopes and left with disappointment. I went today on Tuesday and it was empty, nobody waiting for food lol. I ordered the Volcano Roll and Bagel roll since they were rated so popular and the bagel roll was super fishy tasting so we stopped eating it to avoid any issues.. the volcano roll was good but it was REALLY warm and has raw fish so that can cause bacteria growth.. NOT GOOD! The ramen had almost no flavor, it tasted lord like water than anything and the cuts of pork belly were sooo thick that it was huge chunks of fat, please cut them thinner! The steamed buns were so over steamed that I couldn’t get them off the container without them falling completely apart and the soup dumplings we all stuck together in the to go container so they just ripped apart and the soup spilled all over. The Scallion pancake had SO much grease that it was pooling in the Togo container.. it was so badddd!

The only thing we really liked was the teriyaki chicken which is insane since this is listed as Japanese for sushi and ramen… super disappointed. I hope it was just an off day for the restaurant but I don’t think we will ever...

This is a below standard sushi. Don’t trust any other reviews here. We bought our sushi there today .. the rice was loose, fell out in pieces when we tried to hold it up to eat. Look at the photo! Seriously, that kind of sushi quality won’t be able to continue in business if in Toronto as the standard there is higher. That Asian Japanese chef in this dish face store just there to make money without heart .. we were in a hurry to catch a train and I already told them a few times we need to leave in a few mins.. he made great promise I don’t need to buy pre make ones … he said he can make it immediately.. he wasn’t able to deliver .. he took my money and only able to give me half of what we ordered. I lose my money...

I’ve dined in and ordered takeout from this establishment multiple times since they opened. This sushi spot is a great addition to Irondequoit and I-square! When I ate in it did take a while for my order to be ready, but we got a beer at the wine bar in isquare so all worked out. I don’t think it took an unusually long time. Generally we order online and do take out. With ordering online my order is always ready within the expected time frame and it texts me to notify me when it’s ready. I agree with the other reviewers that the rolls are surprisingly large, but it doesn’t deter me from eating them haha. We also have really enjoyed the ramen.
