Timberline Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Lake Pleasant

It was pouring rain outside and my grandson and I went here. The women taking the order was very curt with us. I informed her that we have never been in her restaurant before and to give us a minute to check out the menu. I asked for my egg over well and she said that it might not be....then I ordered 4 coffees and she just pointed....I looked and saw a coffee station further down. When that was done she handed me a stick with the number 1 on it to show the waitstaff further down when getting my order. The strange thing was....THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE THERE. I can spend my money anywhere....I would think twice about going there. I found out the donut place by Charlie Johns makes the best egg, ham and cheese on an english muffin for $3 less then this place. Out of my grandsons mouth. " these are better than that...

The food was delicious, and the cinnamon roll was perfect. Most menu items were intriguing, and I would go back to try something different. Family business with young people helping, who were polite and professional. However, it was a bit overwhelming on a crowded Sunday lunchtime. The layout contributed to that. You have to read the whole wall in both rooms to see the menu. Printed copies would be helpful. If you want food and drinks, you need to order in 2 places, and you don't see the pastry case unless you go looking for it. Perfect in its simplicity. We had breakfast and lunch on two separate days here and were not disappointed. The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to talk about the town and local attractions. The bread fresh, the sandwich options were creative and sporting local names. The tomato soup is some of the best we have ever had especially paired with the kids grilled cheese sandwiches!
