Vintage Rose Bakery & Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Town of Lawrence

This is one of my favorite places! Everything is delicious, the space is cute, but most of all, the owners and staff are so welcoming and kind.

Just a few of their "above and beyond" moments during my stops here: they often remember my name when I stop in; when I was having a hard time deciding which sandwich I wanted, they offered to make half-sandwiches of the selections so I could try them; during a late afternoon stop, I got sent home with a delicious free chocolate-chip cookie after eyeing them up in the case; the owners come out to the seating area when they can to check in and make sure everyone is happy. I'm sure that so many of their customers have experienced these "above and beyond" moments, too.

I am grateful that this place is close to home, but even if it wasn't, I would probably go out of my way to stop here to grab a Calle Loiza for breakfast or a Chicken Salad Sandwich on a delicious croissant for lunch, something from the bakery case, or a drink from their monthly...

TLDR; 10/10. Just go there!

Vintage Rose Bakery & Sandwich Shop is an absolute gem! The croissants are so flaky and tender, they almost melt in your mouth, while their incredibly smooth coffee provides the perfect pick-me-up, and the horchata is a must-try. Their sandwiches are ridiculously tasty with their freshly-baked Dutch Crunch bread, and they offer fun impulse buys, too, for those with a wicked sense of humor. 😉

What makes Vintage Rose extra special is how Adam and Kim have honed their incredible talents while honoring the heart of family. Their passion shines through in every bite, creating a welcoming atmosphere, with food that’s made with love and expertise. It’s not just a bakery—it’s a reflection of their dedication to craft and community.

Every single food or drink I've had from here is 10/10, highly recommended.

That being said, this is not a fast coffee place to grab coffee and breakfast before work, as much as I want it to be. I woke up early and ordered ahead, but when I arrived for the approved pick up given by their online order service, nothing was ready. I sat in the drive through for 20 min while I watched my drink be made and waited for my sandwich. When I got my drink it was missing the cold foam and had to wait further for it to be corrected.

Obviously, such great drinks/food take time, but 20 min when I was the only person in the drive through is excessive. I was late to work.

I'll still be by when I have the time to spare, but I'm so sad I won't be able to enjoy their stuff with...
