Plank Road Plate & Pour — Restaurant in Town of Lawrence

I have ordered lunch from plank road on multiple occasions because it is right next to my work and every single time something isn’t right and the employee I’ve spoke to, Angela has been less than helpful. Today I ordered my food to be delivered at noon since that is when I take my lunch. My food arrived 20 minutes early so by the time I was able to take my lunch my food was cold. Not only that my order was missing condiments. I called and spoke to a Angela who informed me there was no manager on duty. I have emailed and called numerous times and never once have been able to speak to a manager. This is absolutely rediculous I paid for nasty cold food and didn’t get so much as any kind of help from the employee. I work near Lambeau at a restaraunt as well as my full time job and the experiences I’ve had at plank road have been TERRIBLE. The employees have been rude and unkind, and now the food i received today was TERRIBLE not to mention Angela tried to tell me my wrap is supposed to be cold, but when I’ve gone to the restaurant it’s warm, regardless it’s cold. Fries are cold and stale it’s plain gross . I wasn’t offered new food (they could literally walk over new HOT food to my work) wasn’t offered for any of my food to be comped or anything. Im appalled at the service.

Update; visited September 24th, my table was sticky, as I waited for my food I watched a server clear off a table but not wipe it down and proceed to sit new people at it. Again. Not impressed.

I come to plank regularly, and a big reason is one amazing server who truly stands out. She's fun-loving, upbeat, and has a contagious energy that instantly lifts the room. April always makes me laugh and brings a personal, joyful vibe to every table she serves. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does - and it shows.

That's why it was so upsetting to witness a recent incident where a customer completely overreacted. April mistakenly cleared a nearly empty drink and immediately offered to replace it - something any reasonable person would see as a kind gesture and good customer service. But instead of accepting the offer, this woman verbally attacked her, hurling vulgarities and continuing to harass her in a way that was totally out of line. It was very uncomfortable and uncalled for.

Good service is hard to find, and April consistently delivers it with heart & humor. People like her are the reason guests keep coming back.

To management: April is a gem. People like her are the reason guests keep coming back. Please support her and recognize her for the atmosphere and joy she brings to your establishment!

And to anyone reading this: be kind to service staff. Mistakes happen. What matters is how people respond - no one deserves this type...

The food was decent for bar dining. I thought the sandwich was about average for what I'd had at any bar and grill. My wife thought the same. The drinks were more average. No home runs, but no strike outs here.

The service was in line with the food and drinks. A couple times we found ourselves hoping someone would visit the table so we could ask for something and there was a bit of a wait. But we did in time get receive the items we needed.

The atmosphere looks really neat and includes a very inviting outdoor patio that looked like it would be fun on a nice day. I wish it was warmer when we were there to try it out.

But that's about all that really sets this apart from any other bar and grill, which there are almost too many to count in Green Bay. For that reason I'm rating this at an average three stars. It's not the 5 star you want to go back to all the time, but it's certainly no 1 star.
