I'm sorry, our experience was that they served us simply gross food all the way around.
This restaurant has been remade from the dump, failed restaurant it once was before, but might have been best to let it die. This is a very small town, and I don't think they have the traffic to keep them in business, so they cut some big corners in food quality.
We ordered some chicken wings, which were very small and basically "pizza shop" wings, and not restaurant quality wings that we would expect for what they are charging.
My wife ordered a burger, and I ordered their very loose interpretation of what a local "Plate" is. My wife and I both agreed, the ground beef was disgusting and very old tasting. The smell and taste of old beef that has been sitting the cooler for too long around was obvious.
I ordered their "Plate", and could not have been more upset. Where do I start? -The burgers were old and nasty tasting, as noted above. -Their "hot source" was nothing more than bad chili; I have no idea what these people think a local hot source is, but this is not hot sauce; it's chili, and bad chili at that. -The Mac salad was beyond gross! The macaroni was completely overcooked, it looked and tasted like a pile of mush that was swimming in Mayo; just gross! -The macaroni was likely left to sit, hot, before it was made into a legit Mac salad, causing it to turn to mush. -They piled half a jar of pickles on my plate, which were not on the menu, and were not well received; I hate pickles! My entire plate tasted like pickle juice! -The French fries were completely unsalted - a real rookie maneuver; I won't eat unseasoned fries.
Our server very cleverly asked if "everything was OK" only AFTER we paid, though it was quite obvious that we didn't care for or eat any of our food. No, nothing was OK, and we did not appreciate the food or the service at Jack's Kitchen. We will never go back. 2 stars because it's not a bad looking place, but the food and service...
Read moreWe’re long time lovers of Jacks. Often getting their fish fry on Fridays. We had yet to try breakfast and were excited to see their new digs since the accident. Unfortunately our experience was not a great one. It seemed busy which is great! And we were excited! We ordered a jacks plate with sausage links for meat and then a plate with 2 eggs with toast, homefries, and meat where I selected bacon I also added a 3rd egg to my order! We had to wait quite a long time; like 35/40 minutes… which again was fine because they were busy. But it seemed like there was no coordination between the staff. One gentleman at the bar even had to stop someone to take his order as he had been sitting before us and didn’t even have someone take his order until our food arrived at our table… Now the food… it was so disappointing The sausage links on the jacks plate were ones I could have warmed up at home. The bacon on my plate was literally microwave bacon. Both of us got 3 eggs which barely looked like 2? My toast was burnt and both of our homefries weren’t cooked all the way through. As much as we love this restaurant the breakfast was beyond lackluster. Some better quality ingredients would have been nice with an almost 40minute wait time… We won’t be eating breakfast here again...
Read moreOK, so I come in for breakfast. I look over the menu and decide on the breakfast club. 1 egg, choice of meat, bacon, lettuce, tomato on bread. $8.50. She comes over to take my order, and I ask for double bacon. She says well it comes with bacon and choice of meat, and stumbles with her wording to basically say, that means sausage, and that if I wanted double bacon that would be an upcharge. I chuckled and said watever sausage then. I get the sandwich, which was meh, but the sausage was a bland slab of....whatever, which I tried but removed cause it was gross. Then the bill comes and she charged me 2.50 for the sausage. I mean, are you freakin kidding me? So, you want to play stupid games? you got a bad tip. I mean,...
