My girlfriend and I were in Stone Ridge for a few nights and this was the best meal we had! We were originally going to order breakfast but we were struck by the menu's descriptions of these burgers and they surpassed our expectations! The Moroccan Lamb burger was absolutely phenomenal. Each bite delivered a world of flavor and juiciness and we felt like our tastebuds were transported to Morocco! The goat cheese spread elevated the dish, too! The Hash Burger was very enjoyable and the garlic aioli was to die for! We asked for it on the side and we had a lot of fun dipping those yummy fingerling potatoes into it. We're not locals but the lamb burger alone gives us a reason to come back! We had it days ago and we're still talking about it! The choc. chip cookies they sell by the cash register are good too! We were here during the covid-19 pandemic and since we got our meal to go we were only inside for a little bit, but from what I could tell, they were following CDC safety guidelines.

Hash is my favorite place to go for breakfast & lunch in the entire Hudson Valley! The menu is interesting, the food is made with good quality ingredients that is consistently delicious, great coffee, homemade soda and fresh juices. The chef owner Page's focus is to put out a perfect plate for every guest, which he does, his amazing coworker Hugo does the baking (best blueberry muffins) and Miles who runs the front never misses a beat. My favorite, among many, is the Italian breakfast see photo. You may notice that I bring my own plate & cutlery. I am very sensitive to our environmental issues but at the same time I respect local business owners to make choices that work for them and we do have options. If NYC reviewer from a month ago Graham Hawthorne thinks a diner is better and cheaper, I'd say best to skip your offering of potentially giving this place one more chance as you don't deserve the love they put out.

Sometimes one is pleasantly surprised when stopping at a little road-side restaurant named "Hash". This place is about the food, and that's great since that's what breakfast should be about. The chef takes evident care in choice of fresh ingredients and flavors, and in the presentation of the plate. I recommend the Huevos Rancheros. You order when you enter, find your own seating, and pick up your meal at the kitchen window. The utensils are recyclable and self-clearing when leaving seems to be appropriate. The large parking lot is gravel so step carefully if raining. But you will be happy with the meal!

I never ever write bad reviews, even if the food and service is horrible. Both my husband and I are are waiters, and we know how crazy a busy restaurants can get. But the experience that I just had at Hash is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant, ever! With no exaggeration , let me explain. We waited a whopping 45 minutes to get two coffees. We ordered two HOT Vietnamese coffees. What we got was watered down ICED coffee with a gigantic thick layer of condensed milk. NOT what we ordered, but Hey! no biggie, it's just coffee. At this point an HOUR AND A HALF had gone by with no food, but the menu just looked so amazing, we thought "Ya know what, it's worth the wait if the food is as good as everyone says. Then the food comes out, a shocking 1 hour and 50 minutes later!!!Guess what? The order was completely wrong, instead of a delicious sounding veggie melt, I have two BURNT TORTILLAS BURIED under a glob of sweet potatoes and beans. I look over at my husband, and his lamb burger was literally RAW ground lamb meat thrown on a burnt bun with a thick lump of (delicious)goat cheese. It did not include any raw onion, or any semblance of a thoughtfully well executed dish. He just looked at it and laughed. So picture that.. we just waited almost two hours for watered down iced coffee which we DID NOT order, a pile of sweet potato mush on top of burnt tortillas, which again, I DID NOT order, and RAW lamb.. Okay, so now our patience has gone. We are hungry, massively disappointed, and now need to speak with the waitress. We STILL at this point don't have water which we had asked for 3 DIFFERENT times. ALL OF THIS would have been chalked up to a very busy day with obvious lack of waitresses and a busy chef. Okay, we get it, we have all been there, and although we are annoyed and frustrated, we as servers completely understand that these things happen, and that our server is in a living nightmare right now, we totally get it, we wont make things worse for her. But here is the real issue: when I was finally was able to wave over our waitress and explain to her that this was in fact not what I ordered, she looked at me, agreed that it was not what I ordered, and literally walked away! SHE WALKED AWAY! She did not apologize for the 2 hour wait or the inconvenience or anything at all!!. She just walked away and started talking to other customers! The whole time I thought well SURELY she will be coming back over to tell me they fired the correct dish, and that I will be having what I actually ordered, and MAYBE get an apology. I got no such courtesy. The waitress just walked away and never came back over to us!. So with out eating our embarrassing meal or drinking our mistaken coffee, after a good 15 minutes of waiting for her, we got up to leave. I went over to the waitress who was dealing with another issue and told her we were in fact leaving. She didn't apologize at all, she just said flatly "okay". Like I previously stated, I never write reviews, but it was because of the waitress's lack of hospitality, common decency and lack of respect for us as human beings that I am writing this.

To the waitress that couldn't muster up an apology: you should seriously reflect of this and let this be a lesson to you. If you are making your patrons wait over two hours, at least have the decency to come over and apologize when literally every single thing served to them was either atrocious or a mistake. To the chef who served that pathetic rushed lamb burger: people will wait hours for food that is delicious, cooked and plated with care and consideration. On the other hand, make them wait two hours for a raw sloppy mess, they will never come back. From two people who are in the service industry, we both say we understand when you can not keep up with volume and when things get crazy and out of control. But we could not understand or respect this. Beautiful menu, beautiful atmosphere. Atrocious service and sloppy food. Will...

The food is good. But we were kind of surprised at how NON-sustainable this place is. All the food is served on paper plates and the cutlery is plastic forks, knives and spoons, each individually wrapped in even MORE plastic. ALL of this gets thrown away after every single meal they serve. There's not even a separate recycling bin for all the plastic water bottles and metal canned drinks they sell. This place produces much more garbage per customer than a regular restaurant. It's pretty much like a McDonald's or Wendy's in that regard. I'm not even an eco warrior maniac, and it still surprised me how little effort these guys make to reduce their waste even just a little bit.

There's actually a small sign at the counter that says you can "Bring Your Own Cutlery" if you want to. I have never seen something like that before. I guess I'm not the first person to notice how much garbage these guys produce with plastic-wrapped disposable plastic forks and knives. They'd rather make you bring your own silverware than try to produce a little less garbage.

As far as the ambiance goes, you place your order at the front counter and get to pick up your paper-plate food from the counter, like in a fast food place. The hard plastic cafeteria-style seats are the opposite of comfy and cozy, so I'm not sure what some of these other reviewers mean when they say the place is cozy. It ain't.

The coffee is ok and they serve you their expensive coffee in... you guessed it, disposable paper cups. For supposedly extra-good coffee you would think they'd at least respect their product enough to serve it in real coffee cups. It feels like you're drinking Dunkin out of...

This place used to be great - had great servers, food, and vibe, and decent coffee for the U.S. Now the service is just ok (no table service when I was there last week). The food seems to be not as good, although it could simply be what I ordered - Turkey chili, which was completely wrong. It didn't taste anything like chili. It tasted like tomato sauce. My dining partner had an egg dish which he didn't say anything about. Both dishes, and most of the food I witnessed coming out, were wrapped in tin foil, which is unappealing and kind of low-class diner-like. A stark contrast to the great service and presentation they used to have. They also don't have any proper cups for the coffee - everything is in disposable cups, which I hate when having a good espresso drink. I don't know the reason for such a drop in quality - maybe pandemic related or change of ownership or both, but I'm going to give them one more chance and order one of the things I've had before that was great - lamb burger, chicken sandwich or tacos. If it comes in foil or is anything but great, I won't be back. A diner is better,...
