I know what most readers are probably thinking, small town, Chinese cuisine, this must be mediocre, right? You couldn't be anymore wrong. This Chinese cuisine restaurant / take-out stands above quite a few that I'm familiar with. The staff are excellent to deal with on the phone or face to face. They take orders correctly, efficiently and get right to work making the food hot and fresh. I have yet after utilizing Peking for over 5 years now, found a local Chinese cuisine that has the same quality, and most importantly love for the food. You taste that in the freshness, flavor. Everything for the most part is always cooked perfectly, the meats are tender and chewable, the noodles are cooked perfect to order. Staff is amazingly friendly even when they are slammed full of orders, you will not stand at the counter and feel like you and the order has been forgotten. Excellent and competitive price points for the food style. I have recommended this location to several people, who all praise their orders, quality and taste as much as I do. Cosmetically the building is a bit dated, and not the most appealing location inside to look at, but some of that comes from the start of Covid and they built a preventative protective wall to protect them and customers alike. But do NOT let the appearance take away from the wonderful experience this Chinese cuisine take-out offers its patrons and...

Tonight we ordered several items off of their vast menu, and each item was delicious. Even something we've never tried before.
First time having the Broccoli and mushrooms, which is under their veggies section. Cooked to perfection with, of course, broccoli, mushrooms, and carrots. The broth it was in soak right into the veggies, making every bite flavorful.
Their steamed dumplings are to die for. Adding a little soy added a different level of flavor. They didn't last to long.
If you've ever had the general Taos chicken, you need to try the beef version. Just as good as the chicken. Each bite was tendor and flavorful. This dish comes with broccoli soaked in their sause, which makes eating your veggies fun.
Overall, always a treat to order take out from Peking. Wish we lived closer, but it's worth the drive. 90% of the time it's only a 20 minute wait, so we order, hope right in the car, and we get there right on time.
Thank you for your years of service to...
Read moreThe place might've been under renovation when I visited. It smelled of paint, etc., but there was no sign of actual construction activity. General atmosphere: dark, dingy, not somewhere you'd want to sit and enjoy a meal.
Ordered the usual travel food: fried dumplings. Overfried but sortof tasty. Sauce was pretty much soy sauce, little other flavor.
Price was $5.95. I asked whether a credit card was OK, was told, "Yes." Credit slip was for $6.75. I asked, "What?" Well, turns out that they have a fee for credit cards that they did not tell me about, and there was no sign to that effect. But the helpful gentleman at the counter said, "I only charged you 35 cents for credit card." I was hungry, I paid. But I left with a bad taste in my mouth...and it was not corrected by the dumplings.
If someone says, "Best Chinese food in the area,"well, I didn't see any other Chinese food in the area. If they say, "Didn't get that sickly feeling Chinese usually gives," well, that tells you the standard for Chinese food around there. Sigh. It does get...
