My mom is Mexican and I know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. The bar is set high for someone like me. My husband who’s Colombian might be more forgiving of this place. Let me start by saying the salsa is very mild so that’s not really traditional. The posole soup we had was the best dish. This was the dish that resembled the most to how my mom makes it, except she does it with chicken. My husband had chilaquiles and even though we asked for green the gave us the red sauce one, which was very mild and drenched in cheese. None of the flavors of the Chile came through and needless to say that dish bombed. Overall the drinks were ok mediocre. This restaurant is really trying so they get a B from us. Traditionally speaking the chef is an amateur. The city has more trained chefs in the cuisine even though they may not be Mexican.i guess we’ll come back and give them another try with...
Read moreFirst time will be the last time. To start, the prices here are not on par with the food at all. One of us got a margarita for $14, sold as ‘premium’ but clearly a well drink and in a smaller sized glass. We decided to just go with appetizers and sorry to say, none of it was good. Guacamole was brought out with 4 chips stuck in it, lacked flavor and we had to ask for chips…since they never came out with salsa until we asked. The ‘quesadilla’ was 3 small flour tortillas folded in half and the plate side was soaked in grease. The ‘queso’ dip was a mass of semi melted cheese with chorizo and all of it was swimming in grease served with a few soft corn tortillas(see picture of the grease swimming pool. We managed to eat the quesadillas, about half of the guacamole and only a few small bites of the dip. The staff was friendly enough. $70 for a few mouthfuls of terrible...
Read moreFirst time to dine, we ordered a few plates. The chicken poblano was a hit except for what seemed to be a few too many onions, salad would have been preferred on another plate. The salmon was enjoyable, but again too many onions and peppers. The bar is extremely limited, keep this in mind if you hope to drink. The wait time for the food seemed a bit long for the amount of diners at the time, but was obviously cooked fresh to order. I don't know that there is enough business for this restaurant to survive at this location, but wish them well. Perhaps the prices were a dollar or two above the next guy, but...
