The place looks from the outside like a dive or some poor semi fast food place. The inside is clean but also very humble. Tables, same. Decor could be improved, but then, like in a fairy tale, you may talk to owner and chef Alex, whose last name I did not ask. And there the expectation begins. Alex’s description of his dishes sat up a high standard, but his tone and clear love of cooking kept coming through his words and manners in such a way as to make his claims believable. We ordered and now the stage was set. Waiting for this man from Mexico with a love of French cooking to deliver. And that Alex did. Appetizers, entree and dessert were all first class in presentation, freshness, flavor and tenderness. I was in heaven. There are few places I have been to where the cooking is so thoroughly excellent. From my calamari and David’s Poisoned Tacos” to my Rustic Salmon and his Chicken with spinach and green beans, and culminating with the spectacular Tiramisu and Molten Lava cake desserts, I was besides myself. fI could not help but to hug Alex when he came around. A true feast for the mouth and from there to the heart. The evening developed into a family/community event when the unexpected karaoke started and we were once again amazed by the quality of the sound. The singers were also a surprise, delightful though with different degrees of ability. In conclusion, go and check it out for yourself. If you’re as lucky as I, you’ll be smiling...

Read moreDucktown Restaurant is a hidden gem in New Windsor. The pizza is delicious with a light, airy crust, a savory and not too sweet tomato sauce, and on the Margherita there is fresh mozzarella and basil. The Poisoned tacos are more like taquitos (which is better) and presented like a fancy restaurant would only they are less that $10 for three nice sized ones. Also got the oversized turkey on a croissant with bacon, to which I will add avocado (I did take-out). The reason I spent $30-50 is I always order extra dishes to freeze and eat within the next week or so. Ducktown Restaurant now has a regular customer: me! I highly recommend them as the prices are very reasonable, they give you a ton of food, and the food is delicious. Can't wait to...
