Gavi Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of North Castle

Arrived at 6;30 promptly seated and given menus . Table on our left arrives soon after and also seated and given menus . Same thing for table on our right . We are first to order . Specials described by clownish waiter , obsequious to a fault and very impressed with his overuse of superlatives. Let the the food tell us what we need to know. Over selling is annoying .

The food by the way was very good.

Table two''s food comes out before us and we sit . Table three's food comes out . We have nothing. We are visible fuming and very angry.. We question waiter - he retreats . What appears to be a manager comes to our table and see problem and runs into kitchen . Our food begins to arrive two plates at a time ( we are six). Clownish waiter is no place to be seen,.

Dinner concludes we get check , pay and leave, Any one may have a bad day( We all do ) and in a restaurant a bad Saturday night but the key is to handling it with grace and humility . Not letting the customer leave angry when you blew it .. You don't just ignore it.

Everybody knows what you did and every body know you know .The fastest why to calm the situation is as simple "I sorry - I blew it " . We would cease to be angry and gone away happy.We would have respected you for your manners and grace. You might even have made a friend ,

But no acknowledgement and no apology is rude and disrespectful. . And most importantly memorable.

I wonder where the owner is and how he ( or she) would have handled it? I would image the owner would wanted to show the best side of himself and his establishment . Maybe turn a bad moment into good one.

One more thing this is noisiest restaurant I have...

We went with my parents to this restaurant about a week ago. My folks were 10 minutes early, we were 10 minutes late. When we got there, my mom mentioned that they had been there for 20 minutes, and in that time they were offered neither a drink nor a menu. As she was telling me this, a waiter walked by, and she somewhat impatiently said, "Can we see menus?!" and the waiter gave her attitude! In an annoyed tone, he said that he'll be there in a minute! I was up in a flash, asking to speak to a manager. My mom's actually one of the sweetest, most patient people I know, and I have no doubt that she had the courage to speak up because we were there with her. Seeing the waiter talk to her like that had me seeing red. I told the manager what happened, and she more than remedied the issue. She immediately gave us a different waiter, and he treated us with attention and consideration the entire meal. The food was outstanding, truly exceptional, as we had heard, and the fact that the manager took my complaint seriously and completely turned the experience around for us impressed us to no end. We'll certainly be back. The manager and the rest of the wait staff did right by us, and I hope I've shown how impressed we are by passing on a review about what could have been a very frustrating experience but instead was an extremely positive and impressive one. Gavi is a wonderful restaurant that serves great Italian dishes with a wide variety of delicious choices! In a gathering of a group of friends, we ordered shared appetizers, specials, and individual entrees. Mine began with a caprese salad, followed by a succulent and flavorful pressed hen on a bed of spinach, with roasted potatoes. I love espresso with Sambuca, which concluded my meal but...my friends ordered several of their luscious desserts to share across the table. The staff was incredibly gracious, attentive, and helpful!! They have ample parking on their periphery, in their lot at one side, and at parking spaces across the road...all within a few steps of the main entrance.
