What started out as a gas/bathroom stop in Armonk, NY, in 2024, has become our new tradition when driving further north. The first time we stopped, the Shell gas station's bathroom wasn't working. As a personal and an ethical reason to use the bathroom at Amore, I ordered calamari to-go. They gave such a huge portion! The box was full! And they loaded us up with some heaping containers of marinara sauce. The calamari was so crispy crust, tender and chewable rings, that I was about ready to move to Armonk.
Skip to 2025, we stopped at Amore on our way to New Hampshire and on the way back to Virginia. I'm post-op on bariatric surgery and at the regular food phase, with a restriction of 4 ozs). The food is still amazing! So this time up going up to NH, I got the minestrone soup and he got the personal pizza. Coming back to Virginia, we stopped and got the veal parmigiana sandwich and the Mark Anthony salad. Everything they make is absolutely fantastic and the staff is wonderful! This is our new tradition every time we go to NH.
PROS: Food Service Price Parking
CONS: Price (Only if you're Bargain McCheapskate) Location (Sure there are other locations, but Armonk is the best and it's off of the beaten path of I95, but still worth the time-suck)
OVERALL: The food and service is worth the detour. It's a nice, chill spot for some great Italian food. The flavor is there! They make sure you are filled. I'm rubbing my hands together, waiting to go for...
Read moreI've been going to Amore's for many many years which is testimony in itself. Amore's is a great restaurant for many reasons. I could say the food is the best anywhere, but that would be hyperbole. The food is very good; you know it's fresh because of the volume they do, It's consistent, the portions are large and I always enjoy my meal. Your meal will start with a small plate of mixed olives and focaccia, olive oil and delicious bread. Add a glass of white or red wine, beer, or a well made mixed drink and your order will come too soon. Speaking of which, I can't say enough about the owner and his staff. The waitstaff has been there since I can remember which speaks volumes about the owner and how he treats his workers; like family. They are always respectful, friendly, attentive, and well groomed. I've come to know most of them by name and feel comfortable chatting about family while they take a few seconds or so to catch up with me. The human element at Amore's is a very special part of this review. It is centrally located in Armonk with more than enough parking. It has great curb appeal and a combination of indoor and outdoor seating each with its own special ambiance. Or you can sit at the small bar and be made just as comfortable. Make a...
Read moreI was visiting some friends in North White Plains and Katonah and this place was convenient to those locations. My second time here we came for dinner and cocktails and very much enjoyed ourselves. From the moment we arrived everyone was very accommodating and attentive I had to Grey goose martini that were prepared just as I like them. It's a small place that offers a welcoming atmosphere. The waiters that served the table were great and were on top of the little things like water w/o needing to be asked. I prefer lemon with my water only asked for it initially that's it, it was replenished as needed. We each ordered a different dish and shared. My dish was a short rib ragu that I choose to pair with linguine, delicatbly sublime is how best to describe it. One of us is a vegetarian and she was happy with her choice as well. No one had a bad word for anything. We shared a dessert which was also delicious. The bill for 3 with cocktails was $210 with a 20% tip. I think that was reasonable for a wonderful dinner and night out with friends. I would visit again if I was...
