I am posting this review in response to commentary I saw from Wasi Green. My husband and I moved to Manhasset from Hell’s Kitchen almost 11 years ago. We frequently dine at Louie’s and have done so since we moved here. I am of Caribbean descent and my husband’s heritage is Irish and German. Our children our biracial and I have an older daughter who is entirely of Caribbean descent. Our nanny also hails from the Caribbean. Every one of us has always felt welcome at Louie’s – whether we’re together or coming in separately. We’ve brought family and friends of all types of backgrounds to Louies, many of whom do not live in Manhasset. Lots of them come on their own because the food is outstanding and so is the attentive service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every need is met (including modifications and substitutions other places simply won’t accommodate). I have never seen anyone treated with anything other than respect at this establishment. There can be wait times for tables during typically busy portions of the day and it’s important to ensure you are on the wait list when that’s the case. I struggle to understand why people don’t ask questions when they’re confused about a situation like what this reviewer described. Sometimes there’s a simple explanation, but you’ll never know if you don’t ask and choose to make...
Read morePeter is fantastic, The other owner was beyond mean rude-he gave oatmeal that was cold right when he bought it , I could not be any more polite. I said I am so sorry so sorry it's just not not.if they could heat it. Came back still cold. I tried to eat it was delicious but still cold. I did talk to a person next to men let a little time go back and politely asked if he could just heat it up it was never hot. He lost his temper and said leave the establishment. I have been a customer for 25 years I have never been mean or rude to anybody never. It's a wonderful place but the other owner not Peter should be ashamed of himself. I cried after I left. I have given them champagne and wine every Christmas everybody has been amazing. I have a friend dying of cancer nobody deserves to be attacked and say leave the establishment because you politely I repeat politely asked them to heat it twice because it was never heated up at all correctly always cold. I deserve a huge apology and he is the meanest meanest man and nobody should go there he has ruined it for everybody. Life is too short man you don't do that to customers have been with you for 25 years bad move bad bad move. If I was rude it was one thing I could not have been more pleasant. He should be really really ashamed of himself and nobody...
Read moreI had promised myself that I would never go to this hoax of a restaurant again. But when I saw they changed their name, I thought maybe there were new owners. So I tried take-out. I ordered 2 French onion soups, a tuna appetizer, a burger and chrispy zucchini and eggplant chips. The cost was just under $100. When I got home, I was in shock. I had to put both French onion soups in one bowl that was good enough for one person; costing$28 OUTRAGIOUS!!! To top that, the soup was weak and not tasty at all. As for the burger, my husband said it smelled, tasted like the worst burger you could get at a diner and cost $23. The spicy tuna and the veggie chips were good. But will never go again. It's a shame because the restaurant is beautiful. I hope one day, someone buys it and makes it what it should be. Shame on...
