Nestled in the picturesque Safeharbor Marina, Ninos Beach is an enchanting waterfront Mediterranean restaurant that left me and my business partners utterly captivated. From the moment we stepped foot into this culinary oasis, we knew we were in for an extraordinary dining experience.
Let's start with the appetizers, an enticing prelude to the culinary delights that awaited us. The grilled octopus showcased expert grilling techniques, resulting in tender, succulent morsels that danced on our palates. The Crispy Calamari provided a delightful contrast with its light, golden crust and tender, flavorful calamari rings. And let's not forget the Baked Classic, a delectable creation that oozed with the perfect blend of cheese, herbs, and fresh ingredients, leaving us yearning for more.
As we toasted to a successful evening, the Classic Gin and Tonic and the Mojito whisked us away to a realm of refreshing satisfaction. Crafted with precision and attention to detail, these expertly mixed libations were the ideal companions to our culinary voyage.
The mains continued to impress, solidifying Ninos Beach's reputation as a Mediterranean haven. The Tuscan Kale Salad with Grilled Chicken was a revelation, combining the vibrant flavors of fresh greens, perfectly grilled chicken, and a harmonious medley of complementary ingredients. The Margarita Pizza transported us to the streets of Naples with its thin, crispy crust and the harmonious marriage of rich tomato sauce, melted cheese, and fragrant basil.
However, it was the Lobster Rolls that stole the show. Served with a side of salad and fries, these indulgent delights were a celebration of the ocean's bounty. Each bite revealed succulent, tender lobster meat delicately coated in a tangy dressing, nestled in a buttery, toasted bun. It was a symphony of flavors that left us in awe.
To complete our extraordinary journey, we savored the comforting embrace of a rich, aromatic coffee and expertly crafted cappuccinos. Each sip was a testament to Ninos Beach's commitment to excellence, ensuring that even the simplest of beverages were elevated to new heights.
Throughout the afternoon, our server Nick exuded professionalism, patience, and an unmistakable warmth that made us feel truly welcomed. His attentiveness to our needs and his extensive knowledge of the menu only added to the overall exceptional experience.
In conclusion, Ninos Beach is a shining gem in the culinary landscape of Port Washington. With its waterfront location, impeccable service, and a menu that celebrates the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean, it is a haven for those seeking a remarkable dining experience. Bold flavors, exquisite presentations, and a serene ambiance make Ninos Beach a must-visit destination for anyone with a passion for...
Read moreA coworker invited me out for a work dinner with other E.R. buddies. I'm not sure who chose the place, but I liked the choice. The proximity to the water (you can pull right up on your boat), sunset views, a beautifully designed interior and a very wide-ranging seafood menu should be the makings of a perfect night out. They came close but unfortunately fell just short.
One of the members of our party was excessively late. Not only was she late, but she also didn't expeditiously get a handle on what she was looking for when the waitress (black hair, single french-braid down the back) came to ask us what we wanted to order. All of that is 100% on us. However, the waitress caught a little bit of quiet attitude and it showed in her body language as well as the fact that she seemed to purposely leave us hanging for a while. Menus were down and we waited a bit for her to return. She took orders from adjacent tables, but didn't check on us for quite a while. As much as we were at fault as a party for not having it together, that was not a professional look on the part of the waitress.
In any case, the food and drinks were actually good. There was one cocktail I had that had vodka and lemoncello. I can't recall the name, but it was a refreshing summer drink. I also had the "Mango Llada," which was also good but maybe a little sweet to be drinking with dinner. I went to read wine once my steak arrived. We had several other apps including the grilled octopus and the crab cakes, which were great! My compatriots had various pasta dishes that I didn't try, but they cleaned their plates which was a good indicator.
All in all, the meal was good, once it arrived. The sunset was beautiful. We sat outside which was good people watching and it was the coolest thing to see couples arriving for dinner via boat. We could have had an interior table but one of the other members of my party felt it was a little bit loud. I didn't mind the volume, but he is a very soft-spoken man, so take that as you will.
The bottom line is that I think you should make a visit to the restaurant. It's a great date spot in my opinion. Special shout out to the curly-haired bus-boy wearing glasses, Josh (Joshua?). He was actually very attentive to our needs. To any managers reading this: Promote him! The valet guys were cool and efficient too. If ever I need a place for a 1-on-1, with some good people-watching. I'll be back. You should...
Read moreThis place was recommended by a dedicated and respected foodie and one of the best recommendations of the summer. Upon arrival and front & center was the Owner Mike. He was more than gracious and welcoming and was surprisingly waiting for our appearance.
As always our dining adventure begins with a cocktail at the bar. Also welcomed and recognized by the bartender Stacy who has been following us for years and was a former bartender at one of our past favorites. The conversation was friendly and enlightened us to all that Port Washington Harbor has to offer. Definitely a destination town. Next was our server Enzo. He was extremely pleasant and attentive and made some great recommendations. Then greeted by the Executive Chef/Owner, Franco, he made a fantastic recommendation for Kelly, my chicken lover. Trusting all the recommendations provided we started off with the stuffed zucchini flowers... Light with perfection.
Then had a fantastic salad "Artisanal Salad" Artisinal Lettuces, Figs, Ricotta Salata, Castelvetrano Olives, Shallot Vinaigrette. Very refreshing! And then of course had to have my macaroni. Keeping it simple we had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka that was prepared perfectly with a spicy Calabrian chili touch. Then of course onto the main course... the chefs chicken special for Kelly and the never ending dry-aged Tomahawk ribeye for myself. My expectations we're minimize since this restaurant is considered more Italian but "extremely" impressed with this choice. Excellent aged flavor and cooked to perfection.
Upon completing our dining journey, and taking a breath, the owner Mike indulged us in a few dessert choices. These desserts were amazing and put it over the top especially the floral additions.
Our experience was so amazing that we had to book 2 more Saturdays in advance. If you're looking for trendy upscale and exciting atmosphere with a gorgeous water side View, this is a must. Very Tucked away in a hidden little Cove in Port Washington. This is worth the trip with five stars all around.
PS. I also heard Thursday night is off the hook with dancing in a entertainment (DJ) for a themed ladies night extravaganza like no other on Long Island.
