Manorhaven Beach Park & Pool — Attraction in Town of North Hempstead

I went 10 times last year to decide if I should join this year for 2013, and each time I went they allowed 5 year olds and under in the adult pool and each of those times I went we all had to get out at some point cause some child pooped in the adult pool or a childs diaper came off!!! Not fair to paying adults who can only go after work for 2 hours, get there, pay, and told not to go in pool directly, to wait an hour cause pool is contaminated again. I only had 1/2 hour to swim that day and other days I had to get out of pool only moments when I arrived! One day they made us get out twice in almost 2 hours! Just not fair for the rest of us! Kids 5 years and under need be in the smaller pools only! Its much safer for them and quarantines dangerous bacteria from getting into the larger pools where filters are separate to baby pools. Most pools do not take these chances these days and allow possible mishaps with unsanitary conditions. They don't allow young, poop prone kids in adult section of pools at all! Just such an...

Great big park with plenty to do. Basketball court's, ball field/soccer field, tennis courts, a recently expanded skate park , a few free outdoor concerts every summer & a decent playground for younger kids with water sprinklers in the summer months. The pool is big , not overcrowded, has 2 FUN water slides, snack bar & a nice view of the beach. It could be awesome but as a few other reviewers mentioned the child "poop" & vomit incidents in the main pool is a big inconvenience & oddly frequent . There's a totally seperate baby /toddler pool yet somehow that area is fine. No vomit, poop or floating diapers in there- the older kid & adult section is home to these incidents & evacuations. ?? Oh & lastly the beach is scenic but in my opinion not good for swimming or a beach day outing. Murky water & the ground is covered with rocks & shells making it tough to even wet your feet. Manorhaven Beach Park & Pool is a wonderful destination with fun amenities like slides, a well-maintained pool, and beautiful scenery. However, one area that could use improvement is the location of the food area. It’s not as conveniently placed as one might hope, making it a bit of a hassle to grab a quick bite while enjoying the park’s amenities.
