We decided to check this area out and give this place a go because the photos of the bakery looked delicious. We unfortunately did not get any bakery since they were out and there was just one half darkened looking cookie. From what it sounded like, one of their family members were filling in while someone was away. They really should have taught them how to make drinks though. Unfortunately we asked for smoothie and dude had to double check both times saying "uhh" and "let's see what we can do here" with the two smoothies on the menu. He threw some stuff fruits into the blender, one of them being bananas, which I had asked for the berry one since I have a bad reaction whenever I eat bananas. When he blended the top wouldn't blend due to not enough liquids and was going to try a different blender before deciding to try to add more milk. He was nice any only charged us one, but my fiancee was having a huge panic attack over this. He didn't realize that he didn't know the menu and the guy that was filling in was wearing basketball shorts so my fiance thought he was a customer at first. I almost wish they closed for that day or had helped him train better. It was nice what he did and to no fault on anyone, but this was definitely rough with someone who has phobias about food prep and just straight up anxiety. thank you for trying, but maybe next time some open communication that he was filling in and didn't know how to make what was on the menu, we could have come back...
Read moreFirst time here. Came with a friend to check it out. It was early morning (8 a.m.), and it was quiet with a few other people there.
It's an interesting place, but hard to put into a specific category. It offers hot beverages, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, oatmeal, etc. — and then they also have ice cream.
When I walked in, I was a bit unsure about the layout and seating. In the first area, there are a couple of tables. There are lots of things going on in this space, and it feels a bit cramped and chaotic. The order counter is here, along with a small kitchen. Beyond this space, you’ll find a much larger seating area with tables for different-sized groups. I'm not a design expert, but this area also felt a bit chaotic. I didn’t sense any overarching design. For me, it didn’t have the relaxing, chill vibe I look for in a coffee shop or café.
Got a super friendly greeting and service. Ordered a couple of tea lattes — one Chai, and the other a London Fog (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam). Both were made in mugs, served at the right temperature, with great flavor. Got a couple of the scones, and those were just “okay.” They were dry (which a scone should be), but they leaned more muffin-like than shortbread-like.
Overall, the visit was a mixed bag — not bad, but not a place I’m likely...
Read moreI booked Homegrown Provisions for my husband’s surprise 40th birthday. Mikaela, the owner, has been an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. I do not consider myself a very organized (or decisive) person so the ability to pull off this surprise has been very stressful for me and Mikeala was amazing every step of the way! From helping coordinate details, decor, and food to being there the entire party to bartend and make sure we had everything we needed throughout the night, there was NOTHING Mikeala didnt have that I needed or go out of her way to get for our group of 30 people! (She brought a firepit the day of the party, with blankets, to set up a comfortable spot outside on a chilly fall night for my husband and his friends to enjoy some birthday cigars!) seriously, the best! She worked with my budget and found ways for me to get everything I wanted to make the party perfect without trying to sneak in hidden charges or fees for every single addition. The location was absolutely perfect and I received compliments all night on the perfect venue location and the special touches to the party! Cannot recommend Homegrown Provisions enough for small parties and get togethers for...
