First time here, and we three women planned to grab a quick appetizer and a drink. Instead, we had a full meal with dessert. The options were just too tempting. First, Chris (the owner) and Potter behind the bar were super friendly and really are proud of their work. It was nice to hear their story and their recommentations. Chris is a vet and still honors his fellow vets by making donations with every Ammunitions drinks ordered. So, we had to try the Ammunition Wisconsin Old Fashioned. Wow, great! A Natalia was also light and really good. Then the conversation turned to which dishes should be tried. In order to get a full idea of the food, we ordered several different options. Not only are they large servings but they are really good also. Nothing missed the mark. Here is what we had: The Chicken Piccata was a special tonight; it was Chicken in lemon/butter/capers sauce over thick pasta. Yum, the lemon was up front and the tastes were very evident in a good way. One Chicken Parmesan hit the spot; well melted mozzarella is a must and this one was right on. One 1/2 size Chopped Salad was bigger than we could ever eat and the Arancini was crispy and strong taste, all in a good way. A 1/2 order of garlic bread left us wanting more, and the Chocolate Mousse for dessert put us over the top. We took home enough food to cover another meal for each of us. Seating is at the bar, at a row at the front window, in the private table that can sit about 5/6, and also the full dining room in the back. We chose the bar as the back room seemed a bit too dark on this sunny evening. The music was cool and people trickled in throughout our meal. The piano is in action on Friday and Saturday nights so we will be back. However, I'm sure we will need a reservation, or arrive early to grab a seat before the crowds set in. All in all, we spent $155, including tips. This was much more than we planned to eat and spend, but we left feeling fully satisfied and happy to have leftovers for another meal. Hey, Vets, this is your place. Couples and friend groups have a seat at the table, too. This is a fun place, and we plan to return to try more menu items. I would not hesitate to take young kids also, as there are a few video games. 4 Stars for Atmosphere only because I prefer brighter rooms, and the only option for that was in the bar. No problem, but that is my preference. It will not stop me from returning. As they find their groove this place should thrive. Stop in and...
Read moreI’m giving this place three stars because the food was pretty good. Beyond that, we were disappointed. This used to be a nice dining establishment when it was Gondola, but now it feels more like a bar that happens to serve upscale food.
When our server came to tell us the specials, she mentioned that at least four items on the dinner menu were no longer available, though the printed menus hadn’t been updated. We ordered three appetizers, all of which were good. The fried eggplant came in a portion far larger than usual—our server even said it was much more than they typically serve, easily enough for six people.
After our appetizers arrived, our server never returned to check on us. We had to ask another couple who were leaving to send her over so we could get salt and pepper. Because the appetizers were so filling, we skipped dinner. When the server cleared our plates, the ramekin that held the tomato sauce slid off and shattered on the floor. There was only a little sauce left in it, but she left the remnants on the floor next to our table along with a few pieces of broken glass. I should note that the server said she was also the manager.
We asked about dessert, but of the four listed options, only one—the cannoli cake—was available. It was clearly not homemade.
After dinner, we went to the bar for a nightcap. A drunk man came in and tried to start a fight with another guest, and staff had to remove him. At 8:30, the bartender loudly announced (yelled) last call for 9:00. At 8:55, he shouted behind us that we had five minutes to finish and leave. Basically "get out" like he had somewhere way more important to be. It felt more like a local tavern than a restaurant trying to offer a refined experience.
We also tried to use the pull tab machine, which had an error. I mentioned it to the bartender three times. He said he’d take a look but never did.
Overall, the food was pretty good, but the atmosphere, service, and lack of professionalism would keep me...

And for him to assume Kick Switch wasn't going to continue their lease is really bad. karma. No one has survived in his building since I've been in Okauchee. KARMA IS UP YOUR PARKING LOT. Haven't eaten there yet. But was approached by the owner tonight as he said we parked in his parking lot for we had dinner across the street at Kick Switch. Great fish fry and amazing service .As we were leaving I noticed we were Not in his parking lot but the business to the east of him. He drove away in his fancy Mercedes. Hmm he was rude. We live on the lake and support our Okauchee Family Businesses. However the way his rude attitude came across telling us we were in his parking and to park elsewhere I'll pass on his venture. Go across the street and you'll find amazing bartenders and...
