Gong Cha Orangeburg — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

I’ve been hitting up a few spots lately and here’s the deal. Maiko Matcha Cafe is super cozy and the matcha is next level. It’s high ceremonial grade so you can taste the real quality right away. The matcha is fresh smooth and perfectly balanced not bitter or too sweet just refreshing every time. The vibe matches the tea relaxed and authentic definitely a spot I keep coming back to. Din Tai Fung nails it with their food and boba. Their dumplings are on point full of flavor but not overdone. The boba is surprisingly good fresh chewy and not overly sweet. The whole place feels clean and well managed great for when you want solid Asian food with decent bubble tea on the side. Gong Cha is my go-to for bubble tea when I want something quick and reliable. Their boba is fresh and chewy and you can customize your sweetness and ice level. The flavors are consistent and tasty without any weird aftertaste. I ordered through DoorDash & was excited to try bubble tea for the first time. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience

I ended up getting food poisoning..unsure from the pearls itself or the tea. The oolong itself did not taste right what so ever. Prepared steeped tea can definitely go bad if it's been sitting around for a while. Hopefully this was an isolated incident.

I have worked in the tea industry and have been drinking oolong for many years. It was very much bitter and did not taste normal. I have ordered just your oolong in the past with no issues and it had a normal taste. I also want to add that the first thing I consumed that day was the tea/boba then some saltine crackers & a few hours later...

I had such a great experience at this Gong Cha location! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive — they made ordering so easy and even gave great recommendations. My drink was prepared quickly and tasted amazing — rich in flavor, perfectly balanced sweetness, and just the right amount of ice. The toppings were fresh and chewy, and every sip was consistently delicious.

The store was clean, well-organized, and had a pleasant atmosphere, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. You can really tell the team here cares about both the quality of their drinks and making customers happy.
