A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Owego

We had a great experience. I believe the service associates name was Christine, she has a blonde braid and freckles. Anyway the food was about $50 for a family of four with sides and extras but honestly it felt worth it. The food was delicious. We’ve never been here as we’re driving through road tripping and thought we’d try it out for lunch; Christine was a delight. She walked us through our options and helped us decide, she even brought our food and float to us because she saw my hands full with my kids; who she offered suckers to (with my permission which I appreciated greatly) The food was ready really quickly and it was honestly very tasty. The chicken tasted better than I expected and the cheeseburger was very high quality, the lettuce was fresh and crisp. Overall enjoyable start to finish. Traveling from Virginia and was craving A&W ice cream. Girl in drive thru said machine wasn’t working, it was “down” I tried to call the store and after the 20th or so attempt they answered. I asked if they had ice cream and they said “no, the machine is being cleaned.” I asked what time they close and they said 10pm. So I questioned why the machine was taken down on a SATURDAY two hours before close. She told me it took 2 hours to clean it. I repeated my question as to why they would do this on a SATURDAY night in the spring when they knew people would be coming in for ice cream. She said “that’s how it’s always been for the 2 years I have worked here” I guess they really want to get out by 10pm. Hurry if you want fries, they probably empty the fryer at 8:30 so it will be clean by close. VERY DISAPPOINTED A & W. At least the Vestal NY location was in full swing and welcomes all menu items...

Prices were great food was great fries were a little cold but still edible staff was very friendly. I visit your business once every other week as you can see by my last review . I don't know what happened to the good staff but .last visit was complete and utter b.s I visited Thursday at 844pm I was pulled forward I sat and waited 15 minutes for fast food i then go in to see maybe they forgott I was outside I ask the manager if they forgott about me he snaps back no I just finished your order meanwhile three employees all doing nothing watch your cameras.
