Beach Bar @ Blu Iguana — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Went to The Beach Bar tonite for dinner. Had a wonderful meal as well as a nice night out. Food was delicious! Atmosphere is great! Live entertainment nightly too! (The band tonite was so good that I actually got up to see if it was still the band, or if they had turned the radio on. It was the band!! The Del Satins were there tonite!) The portions are a nice size too! My son raved about the 'chicken torpedo' sandwich (Chicken cutlet, Mozzarella, roasted pepper and Chipotle aioli on about a loaf and a half of bread!!) so we each ordered that (and took at least half of it home!) My husband ordered Chicken Milanese and it looked delicious too! And my son's girl ordered lobster bisque soup and said it was wonderful. We also ordered a bbq wings app ( they all loved them!) And we got soft pretzels ( with 2 dipping sauces...yum!!) And fried oreos for dessert!! Wow! Just amazing!! Everything was delicious!! And we had a beautiful sunset! (It's on the beach at Tappen. There's indoor and outdoor dining, and the sides of the restaurant are all open...so always fresh air and a breeze. Stephanie was our waitress and she was Terrific!! Add to that the fact that DAVE IS BACK from Don Lorenzo's...and you can never go wrong here!! If you haven't tried it yet, please check it out! They're open thru...

If I could give it no stars I would. Horrible hostess and manager who discriminated against a patron in a wheelchair. We put our name in waited & when we went in the first time the table was not on the deck in the restaurant and in the sand at a picnic table not wheelchair friendly…no problem mistakes happen we had to wait again for a regular table…waited the second time over one hour to be brought to another PICNIC table. How is someone in a wheelchair supposed to eat there when there are benches attached to the table?! When I said something the hostess rolled her eyes was rude walked away while we were standing there. I told her I would not waste my money eating here asked to speak to a manager. Instead of making it right the manager said I was in the back I didn’t know we are busy…no I’m sorry let me get you the next table…walked out after 2 hours of waiting. Just disgusting the way we were treated & when I asked where should my sister eat & put her food in her lap? She can’t even get into the table no response but we are busy…Being busy is no reason to be rude and unaccommodating as we waited like...

We arrived with a party of 12 after another restaurant was not able to accommodate us. The staff at Beach Bar @ Blu Iguana was extremely helpful! The hostess explained a table would be available when a large group ends their event, which was supposed to happen soon. Within 10 minutes we were seated. The staff cleaned up from the previous group and sat us down extremely efficiently. Payton, the waitress, was super amazing! She made sure everyone got what they needed, including making great recommendations for gluten-free menu items. The food was great. Many of us ordered the steak sandwich - everyone loved it! The quesadillas were a hit, too. A small detail that meant a lot: at 7 PM when I asked for coffee, Payton offered to brew a fresh cup. And it was good coffee! The band that was playing was excellent, and when we requested they sing Happy Birthday to our daughter, they took the time to congratulate her by name and lead everyone in a round of Happy Birthday.
