My daughter and I went for lunch and it was great! Jenny was really accommodating (it was my first time in there) I was very happy to have gone and decided to go there for dinner with a friend. Completely different experience. Not very welcoming when we walked in. As always, I asked for hot water and alittle milk on side. We ordered, ate. Salmon was a little too done but it was ok. But not worth 31$. When we got the bill, I noticed a 3.25 charge for coffee, tea, soda. We did not order any of that so I questioned it. They said because I ordered milk. It was a tablespoon! How do you charge 3.25 for that? Ok, maybe a 1$ but 3.25? The hostess was rude and said the manager said to charge you. I asked for the manager they said she left. I told her if she wouldn’t take it off, I won’t be back. I called 2 days later to speak to the manager and she remembered the incident and said in defense it was their policy that they don’t really allow outside drinks inside. (I brought in a tea bag) I do this because every place I go to I freeze from the ac and not all places have decaf black tea. It was obvious she was taking the hostess’ side and I felt like I had to defend myself but wouldn’t let me talk. So I told her she was just as bad as the hostess. And told her I won’t be back now for lunch or dinner. Always try to bring business to the local folks but it’s almost always that there’s a problem. After all that everyone has endured, it’s just so sad that we are even having these conversations. I will stick to my regular places that I go to every week. Thank you...
Read moreI am not sure which owner we met Bill or Jim this past Thursday night the September 23rd, but they could not have been friendlier. One thing I do know about are restaurants. I’ve been eating out for over fifty years. I’ve eaten at the fancy and not so fancy restaurants in the tristate area. New York has some of the best restaurants in the world. Well, I will put Buckram Stables Café up against the best of them. The food may not have fancy sauces but it is the freshest! When you enter the restaurant you are met with warmth. I found out that some of the staff at the restaurant have worked there for over 25 years. Those are people dedicated to the restaurant providing excellent service and food. I had Mahi- Mahi over vegetable rice with mango sauce on top. The fish was cooked to perfection. I kept on saying this does not taste like fish. It just tasted so good. When my wife heard me say this, she started saying how her Buckram burger was so good and the salad with it was so fresh. Then my son who is a picky eater said my chicken kabab teriyaki is so tasty. Amazing to get three awesome dishes We had deserts too and they were great too. So besides the friendly and great service and great food, they are flexible on preparing the food for you too. If you want something made a certain way, they will try to do it for you. This tells me the food is fresh. Last the prices are...
Read moreThis quaint treasure tucked away in the heart of Locust Valley is definitely a must try for any true foodie. I had the privledge of dining here this week with my mother and it completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment you enter, the Victorian motif accentuates the stable-lined structure to give its guests a very warm, inviting feel. In terms of the menu, I decided on the mahi mahi over a Caesar salad and I must say it was sensational. The delicate sweetness and firm yet moist flaking was beautifully seared. Mahi is one of those fish that absorbs flavors perfectly so the creaminess of the Caesar dressing complimented it to a tee. Lastly, I must thank Diane for providing us great hospitality! We will definitely be back soon. Highly...
