Not Impressed. I should have known by walking into this establishment and seeing almost every table empty, I was in for a treat. I don't mind spending $$$ if it matches the quality of food. However, this was a mediocre at best experience. 2 measley small to medium sized pancakes that were tough to cut through with some blueberry sauce - $18 bucks. They expect you to use butter packettes instead of the maple honey butter that's promised. The fact the waiter told me it's mixed in the batter is a complete lie. I tasted nothing maple of the sort let alone every high end establishment generally provides a homemade whipped butter. The pastry platter for $12 was just okay. They embellish the term butter and marmalade - it's the same butter packettes and smuckers for jam. The pastries sit out by the bar and they serve it that way, a bit odd since they normally dont stay fresh that way. My wife's french toast ($18) was decent, but the fruit wasn't cleaned thoroughly and some of the strawberries were rotting at the tips. The whipped cream was canned not homemade. The bacon was good - but 3 skinny strips for $4 and change doesnt get me excited. Lastly, the orange juice (all juices) $8 is claimed to be fresh squeezed - had an odd taste and it was very debatable on the "fresh squeezed". Service was probably the highlight of the experience, but nothing like any diner couldnt provide as well. One utensil setting was missing a fork. The place settings are paper napkins and not cloth. I was excited to eat here and to support this local business, but this establishment flatlined. My advice to management in terms of brunch - lower your prices because the quality and quantity of food is just not there. Difficult to defend the prices when your serving a couple of pancakes, nothing homemade for sides and garnish, bottled orange juice, accompanied by paper napkins and low quality maple syrup. I wish you all nothing but the best, but if you don't change your ways - this place won't ever be populated during brunch hours.
Response to Owner: I have gone to more Michelin Star restaurants and many of the best restaurants around the world. More than you could do in 3 lifetimes most likely. "Alleged Pro Yelper," - this is Google, speaks to your attention to detail just like the poor quality of food. Many others who have gone to your place stated it's terrible. I'm not the only one. You...
Read moreServers were great BUT we were kicked out from our table after an hour. My husband ordered another drink and didn’t even get it because they told us they needed the table for another reservation. Didn’t even offer us a drink or anything for the inconvenience. Won’t be going back. I don’t normally leave reviews but this needed to be said. It’s just bad business. Not looking for freebies but just wanted to enjoy our night without being kicked out the door.
Reply: The lies are not appreciated. We were not at your bar for 2 hrs. Refer to my posted picture of the review I left as we were on the way home. Our reservations were 7:30 pm and I had already posted on Open table by 8:50 pm. That’s 1 hour and 20 mins and we were already half way home on our 40 min ride. Also during the phone call you mentioned your ‘restaurant’ is not a theatre. Your establishment is in fact not a restaurant. It’s called The Valley Piano BAR and LOUNGE. You have small plates, not entrees, and it’s listed on google as a bar not restaurant. You had an entire projector with the baseball game on…and again my husband ordered a 3rd drink which was not received and we were given the check instead and told the table was needed for a larger party. We don’t want anything we just want people to know about your bad business and customer...
Read moreWe went to Locust Valley to hear some music at Happy Valley. The only thing Happy was the owners pockets after charging $19 for a vodka soda!! Yes $19. And to add to that the draft beer 12 oz was $10?? They must think they are in NYC not Locust Valley. I had a burger for $24. It wasn’t bigger than 6 oz. My wife had the colossal shrimp, but they were actually the size of her baby finger. The place is nice and music was great but it is one and done at...
