We visited this place yesterday and it was not a good experience. We ordered Masala Dosa, Paneer Dosa, Daal Vada, and Donut Vada along with Mango Lassi. Food was mostly good but Donut Vada was horrible asnit tasted and smelt like fish. When asked about it, the waiter said he doesn't know and they dont serve non veg. Asked him to exchange it to Daal vada instead, and he refused to do so. Anyway, we left the donut vada for him and paid the bill and left. The biggest issue was more than 3 flies inside the restaurant, and the flies were all over our food, and half of the time, we were dodging the flies. When informed the waiter, he showed haplessness instead of eagerness to get rid of the flies or to even put in any effort. In the short time we were there, we saw the chef or someone from the kitchen twice, the 2nd time was when he entered the bathroom from the rear door. When we were going back, we saw the rear door to the kitchen open, and this could be the root cause of the flies getting in. When we visited this place before this, it was very nicely operated by some SriLankan owners, but by the state of the affair now, it seems like they are not in charge of it anymore. Anyway, this was my...
Read moreWe arrived around 12pm with a party of 4, it took a bit to be seated (about 15minutes with no other customers in the restaurant) and had to ask for a menu once we were seated, the hostess thought we had ordered/saw a menu. We ordered pakoras, which while they were good they also had to be fried twice so they were oily. I asked to have a Gunpowder Dosa extra spicy (since I love spicy food), instead they told me to order another dosa since it was spicier and that they would make it extra spicy (so they gave me a pondicherry, which I knew wouldn't be spicier). The 3 others ordered a set dosa, onion rava Masala and gunpowder. The set dosa was fine since it was served with no potatoes. The other two and mine had to be taken back since the potato mixture was spoiled (smelled and tasted sour). On top of that my dosa wasn't even slightly spicy. When the dishes came back sadly it was still not spicy, but the potatoes were much better. While this may have been an off day/time, this still shouldn't be so off/bad of an experience. Throughout us being there we had to ask for more utensils and water 4 to 5 times, which is not standard at indian restaurants. Really big shame and bummer...
Read moreA google search for the best dosa listed this place at the top of the search results. When I went in for lunch, oddly enough there were few people dining in. I helped myself to the buffet which included rasam, sambhar, sweet and sour chutney assortments, curd rice, three curries, uttappam, idli, vada, veg biryani, roti, ice cream, tea, gajar halwa, and choice of dosa from a few selections. Most of the dishes were running low on food. Slowly, the place began filling up and the management refilled the food. With the exception of ice cream, vada and gajar halwa, I found everything else to be mediocre. The vada though needed to be literally drained of oil because I could not taste anything in there other than the oil. The idli was not as fluffy as should have been and the tea was watery. I was asked about my food at least five or six times by different employees. A diner remarked that food was better next door and that they had originally driven 30 minutes to eat there, but that place was full so they ended up here. Clearly, they were not enjoying their food either. As for me, I would not go back to this restaurant for...
