Flippin Buns — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

This was my first visit. I am a burger lover. So a new burger joint opens, we need to try it. Especially a one of a kind. I have yet to understand the appeal of a "smash burger". This place was very simple. Straight forward. Direct options. I love that. The people working were very nice and tried to accommodate(gluten free patron). And succeeded. That is top notch. Burgers? Besides being a pinch too salty, they were really good. Flippin Sauce was ok. It countered the salt in the burgers. Giving a collision of flavors. And that I enjoyed. From my daughter: It was a consensus for the burgers, but she had green kick burgers. Jalapenos added. So for her, that evened out our opinion of the burgers themselves. I was really anticipating this opening. It was about time Hicksville had its own smash burger spot. The burgers and fries did not disappoint, it definitely hit the spot. You can tell the team really focused on the food quality.

Since it was their first day, things were a bit disorganized, but that’s understandable for a soft launch. One small suggestion would be to label the packaging on the items to make it easier to tell which item is which for both the staff and the customers.

Overall, a great start. It has the potential to be right up there with Butter, Amir’s, and Hitit. Excited to come back soon and hopefully see the menu grow with some seasonal...

Real review. despite the pop up shop looks, the foods very solid. A simple but very well done SMASH burger. Keep in mind, a smash burger is its own thing and has requirements to be considered a good smash. It was thin, crisped beef that hung off the edges perfectly. Greasy cheesey goodness that I love. Nice onions and smash sauce as well. I only wish they added halal bacon to the menu and really kick this up. I ordered without pickles and got em anyways and that's my only real gripe.
