Bengali Sweet Shop – Authentic Flavors at a Fair Price

I’ve only been to Bengali Sweet Shop once, but it left a good impression. This is a place that delivers on authenticity, value, and flavor, making it worth a visit for anyone who enjoys traditional South Asian sweets.

⸻

Authentic & Ethnic Desserts 🍮

The desserts here are very ethnic and authentic—the kind that instantly remind you of classic Bengali and South Asian flavors. From the presentation to the taste, everything feels rooted in tradition, with a balance of sweetness and texture that’s just right.

⸻

Reasonable Prices 💲

One of the nice surprises is how reasonable the prices are. You get quality desserts without having to spend a fortune, which makes it easy to sample a few different treats in one visit.

⸻

Why It’s Worth a Visit • Authentic taste that reflects true Bengali sweet-making traditions. • Fair, reasonable pricing. • A nice selection that’s satisfying without being overwhelming.

⸻

Final Word: Bengali Sweet Shop may not be a place I’ve visited often yet, but it certainly delivers authentic flavors at a fair price. For anyone craving traditional Bengali or South Asian sweets, it’s a spot worth...

So I used to go there sometimes and had no complaints other than they were just too "emotionless" :). But I don't really care much about that. The incident that changed my mind about this place was - one day I went in to place an order chat, guess what I saw? a LIVE COCKROACH crawling on the cashier counter!!!!! I was shocked , so this lady who works there calls the guy (I think he is the owner, maybe, who was serving sweets to another customer) and this guy simply takes a napkin and smashes this cockroach right on the counter in front of me and throws it down, doesn't even washes his hands. The best part - he said " OH THESE COCKROACHES ARE NOW COMING ON THE FRONT COUNTER"!!!!! so this means they have lot of cockroaches in their kitchen. That is very un-hygienic and I wonder what I am eating???? So, my social responsibility is to inform you all, but now its your decision to eat here or...

Foodie heaven for anyone not on the low carb diet.

Their stuffed paratha selection is unbeatable by any other establishment in Long Island. The usual plain paratha and aloo (potato) paratha are staple fare. I personally like their spicy variations - palak pudina (spinach and mint) and papad. You can also go custom and create one with your preferred fillings.

Their bhatoras have been the favorite for our kids for the last many years.

We loved their lunch buffet, but like all buffets they are on hold in the post coronavirus age.

For people with a sweet tooth, we love their mini rasgullas (white and black, or white and pink), malai sandwich, motibagh, and several others.

This is one place we have visited for 10+ years Certainly appreciate that they have grown over this period, taking over the store next door and creating a fairly large...

I wanted to get some meethai for my non Indian friends at my workplace. My friend suggested this place & asked me to get Kaju Katli from here. After coming home when I opened the box & saw that the Kaju Katli I bought was square. I was expecting diamond shape. I thought the shape doesn’t matter but then realized the squares weren’t evenly sized. Some were thick & some were thin. I decided to cut them in triangles to satisfy my eyes. Then I decided to taste it. It was so sweet that my teeth almost hurt. I wasn’t very convinced but still took it to my workplace along with other stuff. At the end of the day all the ‘other stuff’ was gone & kaju katli triangles were sadly waiting there untouched. I had their food before & really loved it. But even though it is Bengali “sweets”, I had really very disappointing experience with their meethai.
