East Norwich Bagels — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

DO NOT ORDER AVOCADO ON YOUR SANDWICH!!!

I was served rotten avocado on my bacon, egg, cheese, and avocado sandwich.

As someone who orders BEC with avocado regularly at East Norwich Bagels, I know what the avocado should look like. On a good day it's fresh and green, but recently the avocado has looked more and more brown like it has been sitting out for multiple days. I don't mind spending extra for avocado but I expect it to at least be somewhat fresh. I took a bite and immediately put the sandwich down and opened it up because I knew something was not right. This is NOT how avocado should look. It is rubbery to the touch with a sour taste and a stringy texture, completely brown on the outside and extremely discolored on the inside. I'm so shocked that this was put on my sandwich without hesitation. I understand that some brown spots are normal for avocado when it is exposed to air or cooked, but this is completely rotten. So upset that I spent $2.00 extra on 4 rotten slivers of avocado.

"WHATEVER SIR!" she says to me when I called to make an order. "The Hero cheese sandwich doesn't come with a side salad".

I am like, what do you mean? I have been coming here for a month and I have spent an average of $30 a day and always order two hero cheese sandwiches and more which always come with a small side salad.

"WHATEVER SIR" and not letting me speak, rude attitude!

Then she asks around and even when I got there, I recognized the gentleman that's always there (great worker and very nice), and I guess now, no more side salad with the hero cheese sandwich.

Not a big deal, but disappointed because it's these small touches that can keep a customer coming.

$600 a month from me, and I am only 1 customer but because of 30-40 cents (side salad), you won't see me no more.

Take 10, 100 more customers like me, and that's how you would make a business profitable and successful.

Usually pretty good, been ordering from here a long time. Lately been either missing items or the order comes out wrong. Today we ordered/picked up 2 omelets, both with spinach and a side of rye toast and turkey bacon. Well, one omelet was missing spinach, the turkey bacon was super greasy (couldn't eat it) and both omelets were made into a sandwich with the "side of rye bread". Check your to go packages before you leave the store.

And apparently they don't provide a side salad/pickle with any sandwich orders anymore, out of no where. I found that out the hard way when I went to pickup my order last week, the counter staff was very rude when I asked but they eventually gave me 2 side salads. When did this place become so basic and cheap?
