Pearl Kitchen & Cocktails — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Went on a Friday night as a local couple after we saw the amazing reviews and could not have left more unsatisfied. When we walked in, we expected great food and service based on the ambiance and decor. There is seating for easily 100 people but with 4 couples dining in the restaurant on a Friday night, drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive. Our waiter took our silverware after our appetizer and didn't bring another set for our entree so I had to walk to another table to take more to eat my meal. We sat next to an elderly couple who twice asked the staff to turn down the obnoxiously loud music from a DJ in the corner of the bar which was so out of place that the 4 couples dining were essentially yelling at one another to communicate. Worse off, the bar area had about 2-3 couples who clearly knew the owners/bartenders (in additional to treating the regular staff like trash) and turned the bar area into their personal karaoke night and were encouraged to do so by the owners and/or management even though everyone in the dining area were visibly not enjoying this. The steak was extremely poor quality meat (although cooked well). I had the short ribs which were better although dry and the brussel sprouts were terribly cooked and rock solid - essentially inedible - I didn't finish them. We could not believe our whole experience for nothing but 5 star reviews otherwise. If you want 2 drinks, 1 app, and 2 mains for $150 I would highly encourage you to spend your evening at legitimately any other restaurant in the area, unless you enjoy screaming at your partner for 90 minutes over poor quality food and terrible service. Save your money and if you're stuck in the parking lot, just walk next door to the Chinese food place for better food at half the price with respectful staff...

Went in for a date night on Friday and at first were pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous decor and overall atmosphere - however the experience quickly went downhill. There were about 3-4 couples in the bar area who had decided that this night out was their personal karaoke night and were screaming along with every song that was played, and continually having the music turned up to levels that anyone sitting at tables had to yell at their dining companions. A table near us complained and asked for the music to be turned down, and it was... for one song, before it was right back at ridiculous levels. This was all being encouraged by the owner/management (someone clearly in charge) They need to decide if they want to be a nice restaurant or a club, because those two establishments cannot coexist in the small space of this restaurant. However, even if all this hadn't gone on, the meal was still quite disappointing. My steak, while cooked correctly, was one of the lowest quality pieces of meat I've ever had the displeasure of eating. And my cocktail was practically pure lemon juice, which is wildly disappointing for a place with cocktails in the name. This is my first negative review after being a repeat customer many times. When I first came here the food was delicious and every item was on point and the times after that were great as well. Now on my 7th or 8th time coming I had a very poor experience and I'm not sure if I will be going back. We ordered 2 meatball appetizers both served with stale bread, mussel appetizer that tasted and smelled very fishy, I asked to return it and they waited did, brussel sprouts were very soggy and the buffalo flatbread pizza tasted like the bread came frozen from a box with drenched chicken in hot sauce, and the Caesar salad which I asked if was homemade because I am pretty particular about Caesar salad tasted like it came straight from a Ken's bottle.
