We were on a road trip driving 4 hours already and the family was hungry and wanted a proper meal, so we stopped at Isaan Thai given the reviews were all 5 stars. That should have been a red flag already. We ordered many dishes for our family of 9. Unfortunately all the curry dishes were super sweet, as sweet as the Thai iced tea we ordered which were overly sweet to begin with. There were no kaffir lime leaves or Thai basil leaves in sight in their “authentic” Thai dishes. As you can see in the picture the green curry lacks the rich coconut curry you expect from the dish. On a positive note, there were lots of veggies (which isn’t usually the case in the authentic versions of these dishes, but worked out in this case). The white rice was really nice though, especially to offset all the sugary dessert curry! We were starving so as adults, sucked it up and ate what we could. However my daughter did not eat anything since you can’t force a kid to eat bad food!
We did tell the restaurant our complaints which they obviously defended, so eventually they agreed to take one item off the bill. When I went to the till to pay, I was not provided an itemized bill. The gentleman just told me an amount and because I asked, “oh did you remove the one item”, which he didn’t. He then went to adjust that item only after I asked and the bill was $12 less as a result. I was not provided an itemized bill at any point which is strange for any restaurant. In any case, I paid the exact amount he quoted and left. It was a very unusual stop in our long road trip, I guess at least makes for an...
Read moreOrdered a bunch of different dishes for my birthday dinner, for take out. Everything was just so amazing. I was so surprised at how much flavor the food had. Flavors I've never even tried before. I've never even tried Thai food, never had a curry but it was so good. The green curry was my favorite. The crab Rangoons are some of the best. The fried rice was really nice. Drunken noodles were great. But the shrimp tempura was just ok because i didnt like that they wrapped the shrimp in some kind of wonton wrappper maybe. It was still good but it wasnt tempura. Spice was an issue for some of the ppl in my group though. I think they ordered 1 star and thought it was pretty hot. Not mouth burning hot though.. I like spice so I didn't think it was that hot. I ordered 1 star but next time I will try 2☆ but it was still pretty hot. You can order no spice and half stars as well. Really just everything was so good. I'm glad I tried it. Definitely going back to try each dish. The restaurant itself looked empty and quite dark and gloomy inside. Its still set up like a bar from the last place that was in there but they dont serve alcohol there so its just a huge empty bare bar and the empty backwall looks kind of bad in there. Off putting. Lightning was very low too. There was only a couple tables and they were all empty except 1. There was no music or background noise either. Its was earily silent except the clinks of forks on plates. No decor or anything really. . But the food was great and managed very well as take out....
Read moreIt was fantastic! Everything was delicious. I would recommend most people order LESS than a level 2. We got level 0 with the pineapple fried rice and it was delicious. My husband and I both ordered the Drunken Noodles. I got a 1 spicy and he got a half. We both loved them. It was full of deliciously cooked vegetables and meat. I also tried the Kaow Tom Soup. I picked spice level 2. I would not recommend a spice level this high for most people. My husband couldn't eat it. I enjoyed it. It had such rich flavor. We also tried the Thai iced tea. It was very tasty and similar to Chai. It was one the the best meals we have had in a long time. We are going to go back again this week. It is definitely our new...
