John & Sarah's is a small diner located in a rural, dairy community. The wait staff are friendly and seated us promptly.. After seating us and serving drinks it was about 15 minutes before our dinner orders were taken (apparently their was a miscommunication over which waitress was waiting our table). We ordered chicken and biscuit with gravy and a hot turkey dinner. Both homestyle meals were large portions, hot, and filling. They use real mashed potatoes! But, the stuffing/dressing had too much poultry seasoning for our tastes. For dessert there are many pie choices. We had peanut butter cream pie and peanut butter cup pie. Both were well liked with the peanut butter cup pie being exceptional. Our dinner for two with desserts was $28, which is a great value for what you get. Overall, we were satisfied with our visit and likely will return. And their pies were...

Had a horribly rude waitress she was young with dark hair and full of eye rolls. Sighed at every response and couldn't be bothered to clean off empty plates. I asked if there was meat in the red sauce (allergy) and she said no, but obviously had no idea because the sauce came with sausage in it. When I sent it back she just sighed and asked what else I wanted. Never apologized or said anything about the mistake. When my friend asked what was in the Kansas city sirloin soup she said "vegetables and broth and maybe some meat?". Obviously there is SIRLOIN. There was a hair in my salad, which I watched her make with no gloves. Honestly, the shrimp was good but everything else was overcooked and greasy. All of the food was pre-cooked and warmed up to serve. Surprised they are still...

I felt bad as I ended up having to go as they were bringing my meal out. I had taken my dog to the vet that was only a short walk from the restaurant. They were very understanding and gave me a tin pie plate to fit my Philly cheesesteak sandwich and fries in and a separate container to put my cole slaw(had pineapple chunks in which i thought was weird at first but I actually enjoyed it and ate every last bite)in even gave me plastic utensils. The food was absolutely fantastic and I will be sure to visit again next time I'm up thar way. The pies looked amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to try a piece. The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family that are looking for a good meal when in the...

I stopped into this lovely local family restaurant for a nice breakfast before spending all day out birding the area around Silver Lake for the Letchworth-Silver Lake Christmas Bird Count, and it hit the spot! Quaint and clean with only about a dozen tables and a single cheery and helpful server. I ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits and a breakfast sandwich. The gravy and biscuits tasted different than what I'm used to, but were very good. The breakfast sandwich was also well done. The grilled hard roll had a nice crunch rim with a sausage patty, fried egg, and cheese in between. There was also a nice tower of shelving directly inside the front door selling local products including candies and syrups. I bought a chocolate covered cherry cluster.

Otw home from our road trip. We decided to try a local spot that was highly rated. Not quite sure how they got those ratings? Eggs and steak; steak was tough and flavorless. Farmer’s skillet; the portion was very generous but it did not come on a skillet. They must have prepared it with a skillet in the kitchen but the dish was very salty and greasy. The mini hot cakes were one of the better dishes. But I wish they didn’t smother all that butter all over all the pancakes. I prefer the butter on the side.
