So I do have a few negatives, I'll start with those-r I truly wish that prehistoric zoo had a full size venue rather than being cooped up and scattered in small buildings. This makes it very hard for families like mine (6 people) to walk around if anyone else is inside, and borderline dangerous for the under 5 crowd. There's certainly no way a stroller or wagon could get through so I'm glad to have taken my baby carrier instead. The materials used to make some of the enclosures are rough, which is unfortunate with youngsters who touch every and anything- or for parents unfortunate enough to be pushed into them. I ended up with a splinter and slight irritation from building 3.
HOWEVER, none of this is the fault of the owner or staff!!! I can't imagine the costs associated with housing all of these animals, and I do not blame them for utilizing the space they have to it's full capacity. The animals are so very well cared for, they are in seemingly good health and have proper enclosures. We absolutely loved getting to interact with so many animals we rarely get to experience! Beyond that, the staff is absolutely phenomenal. You could not ask for more attentive individuals. While there we met and spoke at length with Ian and Liam, who knew so much about the animals themselves, the species, their environments, etc. They were both unwaveringly patient with my kids and all of their questions. They allowed my toddler to interact with our assistance. Genuinely could not have...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointed. Purchased tickets for March 9th on their website for my son’s 7th birthday. It’s all he’s been wanting and talking about. Drove an hour and a half from outside of Buffalo, New York to see a closed sign on the front door. Spoke to an Employee who happened to be walking out of the building who said they were closed today and that there must’ve been an issue with their online system and that I may be eligible to receive a refund. He was very dismissive and was more concerned about what a rush he was in to leave and said the website says they are closed today which it absolutely does not both the website and google said they were open. I called three separate times and emailed once before our arrival to see if I could book a private tour as well and never got an answer or response. With virtually nothing else to do with kids in the area, we all just ended up driving the hour and half back home. As a business owner I understand things happen but this in my opinion is absolutely unacceptable. My advice, If you’re thinking of traveling any kind of distance at all to visit this...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to visit Prehistoric World on what was supposed to be a rainy morning in Perry thinking it would be a fun indoor activity. It was bigger and even more enjoyable that we thought it would be! Liam was a great tour guide and made sure that everyone who wanted had the opportunity to pet or handle different species. We were impressed by how many different types of animals they had there and learned a lot on our tour. I was able to feed a bearded dragon and my wife fed the huge tortoise. That was a really fun add-on to the experience!!
We also really appreciated hearing the stories of the many of the animals and how they ended up being rescued from some very bad situations and have found a good home at Prehistoric World. We were glad to be able to support this family business doing good in the world! We are already talking about coming back sometime with our kids. Hopefully they are able to find a larger space as mentioned in a response to a previous review as it can be a bit cramped in there. Thanks for the...
