The food here was excellent. I had filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and the small amount of seasoning they put on it was just right. The filet came with a house salad, choice of mashed or baked potato, and their current vegetables. The salad was very nice with a nice selection of greens, shaved carrots and cucumbers. The potato was also very good. The vegetables were simply steamed, but were good, just nothing special. For dessert we shared an ice cream sundae which was a nice finisher. Another guest had their apple bourbon cake which he said was very good. The wine here is reasonably priced at $12/glass, and the pour was generous. Service was also good. My only minor complaint was the atmosphere. It was rather plain and didn't have a warm vibe about it. My verdict is this is a fairly expensive place (as one might expect with any steakhouse), with good service, but a so-so atmosphere.

Discovered this place this year and I’ve been there numerous times since. So far the best Ribeye I’ve had and my wife says the same for her fillet mignon. Cooked to perfection. Next time I had the absolute best chicken cordon blue? Not sure of the spelling on that one. I’ve been hesitant on trying the gnocchi because it’s a steak house and I’m very Italian. Last night I gave it a shot and again this place did not disappoint. Side note, the second time we went the server remembered how we liked our drinks which is amazing. Service is down to earth and extremely friendly. Not once has the owner not come out and said hello. Overall, no business is perfect, but as far as I’m concerned it’s been a home run every time. PS the soups are amazing and if they have it, you have to try the apple bourbon cheesecake!

We decided to try a late(ish) dinner during the week, which is hard to do sometimes in this neighborhood. The place is open until 11 pm. We ordered the bang bang calamari, the tomahawk steak, and a hot fudge sundae for dessert. The vibe here is nice. Not too bright, not too loud, cloth napkins and tablecloths, Billy Joel Spotify playlist, so easy listening. Our food came out hot and in a timely manner. The calamari was superb! The steak was cooked to the requested temperature. The server Kayleigh (sp?) was very accommodating and sweet. Overall a very good experience, will definitely return!

A Memorable Culinary Experience at The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse:

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse, and I must say it was an unforgettable culinary experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through the door until the end of my meal, everything was flawlessly executed, leaving me truly impressed.

Firstly, the ambiance of The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse was exquisite. With its modern and chic decor, the restaurant provided a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The dimmed lighting and well-spaced tables created an intimate setting, perfect for both special occasions and intimate dinners.

Moving on to the main highlight, the food at The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse was simply outstanding. The menu showcased a fantastic range of innovative and well-crafted dishes, making it incredibly difficult to choose just one. The culinary team demonstrated their expertise through their thoughtful flavor combinations and skillful execution.

For my appetizer, I opted for the bacon wrapped scallop, a delightful dish that perfectly balanced flavors and textures. The freshness of the ingredients and the attention to detail in its presentation were evident. It set the perfect tone for the meal to come.

Next, I indulged in the ribeye steak, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. The dish was a work of art both aesthetically and gastronomically. The quality of the ingredients shone through, and the flavors were well-balanced, leaving me wanting more. The portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming, allowing me to savor every bite.

To complement my meal, I selected a glass of wine from The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse's extensive wine list. Bob Dooley, the owner and sommelier's recommendation was exceptional, enhancing the flavors of each course and further elevating my overall dining experience.

The service at The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse was impeccable. The waitstaff, trained to the highest standards, were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout my entire visit. They were happy to answer any questions and ensured that I felt truly valued as a guest. The pacing of the courses was spot-on, allowing me to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed.

Moreover, the attention to detail demonstrated by the staff was exceptional. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I felt well taken care of. The staff's ability to anticipate my needs was evident, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience from start to finish.

Lastly, I must mention the dessert, which was a delightful climax to my meal. I savored the key lime cheesecake, a decadent creation that perfectly balanced sweetness and texture. The artistic presentation of the dessert was a testament to the culinary creativity found at The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse.

To conclude, my dining experience at The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse was nothing short of exceptional. From the ambiance to the culinary artistry and the attentive service, every aspect was executed flawlessly. I wholeheartedly recommend The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse to anyone looking for a memorable and unique dining experience. Whether it's a special occasion or a night out, The Poughkeepsie Steakhouse is a culinary gem that should not be missed.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Poughkeepsie Steakhouse and I must say it was an extraordinary experience that left me absolutely delighted. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service that set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

First and foremost, let's talk about the star of the show—the steaks. Oh my goodness! The quality of the meat at Poughkeepsie Steakhouse is beyond compare. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, cooked to perfection, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I opted for the porterhouse steak, and it was hands down the best steak I have ever had. The chefs here truly know how to bring out the natural flavors of the meat, and the seasoning was simply divine.

But it wasn't just the steaks that impressed me. The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal was remarkable. The presentation of each dish was artful, with beautiful garnishes and perfectly cooked sides. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming. It was clear that the kitchen staff takes great pride in their craft, and it shines through in every dish they serve.

The ambiance of Poughkeepsie Steakhouse also deserves a special mention. The restaurant is inviting, with a cozy and intimate atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The dim lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful décor create a sophisticated yet relaxed environment. It's the ideal place for a romantic date night or a special celebration.

The service throughout the evening was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about their work. They were more than happy to provide recommendations, answer any questions, and ensure that every need was met. The level of professionalism displayed by the entire team was truly commendable. We were impressed the owner of the restaurant, Bob, made a point to visit every table to ensure our expectations were met.

In conclusion, my experience at Poughkeepsie Steakhouse was nothing short of exceptional. The mouthwatering steaks, impeccable service, inviting ambiance, and outstanding attention to detail all contributed to a truly memorable dining experience. If you're a steak lover looking for the best of the best, I highly recommend paying a visit to Poughkeepsie Steakhouse. Trust me, you won't be...

Me and my significant other decided to have a date night at this restaurant last night at approximately 9pm and to say that we were disappointed would be a understatement, although the taste and presentation of the food was very immaculate we both had the bacon wrapped scallops, NY strip steak, and flank steak which i would highly recommend trying, we also ordered caramelized onions but neither of us received them until reminding the waitress, at this point it was already too late. Despite the food being good, the service sadly did not meet our standards. We arrived and there was no hostess to greet us, therefore we sat ourselves at which point another couple entered this establishment and was greeted and seated by a waitress, we still had yet to be attended to. The scenery could use some improvement, it wasn't very welcoming, there was no background music and all together just seemed outdated. The waitress (yanna) did not make any suggestions or recommendation, all together wasn't friendly. She made us feel as if we were being a nuisance to her. She did not have a welcoming aura. She could have definitely been more friendly and welcoming. She didn’t check on us throughout our service and did not offer any dessert. As we were exiting it seemed as though she had a change of character, friendlier demeanor while being next to another lady. Normally we would tip 20% of the bill but due to the lack of good service we only left a $5 tip. Not sure if we would go back and dine there but will most certainly order take out because the food was delicious. This establishment has the potential of 5 stars but for now it will just be 3 star and this is based solely on the tastefulness and presentation...
