I tried. I really tried. And if I'm gonna try it again it will be at least 2 years before I go back in there. I'm local but I'm gonna give them plenty of time to work out all their kinks.
I've been in there 3 times. The 1st experience was pretty decent except the service was incredibly slow and they did not appear to be very busy. There were employees standing talking to each other while I waited at a counter to place an order. I had something from their hot food selection, and it was good, but I had to eat it quickly because in waited 20 minutes to be served. I liked that there was a small option and a large option and that I could mix and match the hot food selections. I was able to build a low carb lunch.
So the next day I figured I would do the same thing and didn't bother to pack anything for lunch. They had absolutely nothing for hot food.So I had a ham and Swiss sandwich which took 15 minutes to make and I don't think it was worth the $9 I paid for it. The bread was stale.
One morning I left for work without something to drink. I remembered it by the time I got to Cameron's. Unless I wanted beer it was hard to find something that didn't have a bunch of artificial sweeteners or a ton of sugar in it, but I made a choice and walked to the counter. Upon arriving at the counter the clerk walked away from the register and no one returned for 4 minutes. I saw at least 3 other employees working at the time ... All of whom make contact but no communication. I found the beverage prices to be inflated.
When you've only got half an hour for lunch you can't afford to spend 20 minutes of it waiting to be served. If I can't count on you to be consistent in what you offer for lunch I can't consider you a reliable lunch option. Also I might be more inclined to buy something out of the cooler from your prepackaged items but there's nothing on it but a price tag so I have no idea what's in it or even what it is.
See you in 2...
Read moreI have had their Sicilian Supreme sandwich many times. Today unfortunately it was made differently and was not as good. In the past they used a breaded chicken cutlet which was very good. Today they used a battered chicken cutlet which looked more like deep fried chicken fingers. Sadly will not be ordering the Sicilian supreme no more. Will have to make them at home the way they used to be made with a breaded chicken cutlet. I was eating outside so I went back in and asked for some napkins and then asked the girl when did they started using battered chicken fingers instead of using a breaded chicken cutlet. She was a bit rude. Told me that was a breaded cutlet she used. Well I have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and I do know the difference between breaded and battered but obviously she didn't. But, she was happy to tell me that she would go grab me a FROZEN chicken cutlet to prove to me it was a cutlet she used. This is the first time I have ever had a chicken cutlet that was round and more then an inch thick-- I am telling you was more like a chicken finger. And it definitely was battered and deep fried. The employee could use an...
Read moreI definitely wanted to give this place a chance. Good location, interesting selection and a clean new establishment almost guaranteed I’d love the place. However, the food itself is inconsistent and quality lacking. My third (and last) visit there, I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. Do not order the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. The “steak” is unbelievably tough and rubbery and is cut in thick, unappealing strips. The burgers there are just “okay” with little seasoning or flavor popping out of it. The French fry portions are generous, I’ll give them that! Service is really weak. Stand there waiting long enough (and you will) and you’ll likely hear employees complaining about a.) each other or b.) other customers. Pretty uncomfortable. Try calling in an order and expect to get no answer and a “voice mail box not set up yet”. Phone rang while I was there and, you guessed it, you could audibly hear the employees frustrated by more business. It’s unfortunate bc I was rooting for this place to be good. Some serious attention to improving food standards, basic training and customer service and who knows, maybe they can turn it...
